but Ball provides enough backtext info to enjoy them out of order. Jed is the youngest of the three Todd brothers
who have made leading wagon trains west to the Oregon Territory a good business. Jed's two-year search for the young girl

There are many unexplained things happening, there's danger, mystery, deaths, lots of injuries, and a very good , can't put down story. This set has been great!
Then a couple are killed but the killer also thought he had killed Izzy -but she was still alive. There is an interesting mystery about Izzy. And then there is a man who keeps trying to kill Lily.
Well written and enjoyable reading.
