This novella was a short, sweet addition to the Ladies of Harper’s Station series by Karen Witemeyer. It’s obvious from both the first book, No Other Will Do and this one, that Ben Porter loves Tori Adams. It’s equally obvious that fear of all men holds Tori back. I loved Ben’s single-minded determination to prove himself trustworthy, going out of his way in many cases to keep from frightening Tori with the depth of his feelings for her. His tough and tender personality shines, making him one of my favorite heroes thus far this year.
Historical romance readers who like a few giggles thrown in with the tears will love this series. I absolutely recommend!
This was a sweet novella about letting go of past hurts and being open to God's healing. Karen Witemeyer is a talented author and she did a great job of packing a lot of emotion in a short story and still making it believable. It was well worth the read.
I'll be looking forward to the next in The Ladies of Harper Station series.
Sensuality Level: Rated G

Violence: Mild to moderate and handled superbly (and integral to the story, both man-against-nature (beast) and man-against-man (or woman))
