Liam McGuire is a super famous singer whose tour bus is involved in a horrible accident leaving him with a wicked gash that runs from his hairline to his chin.
This book gives you all sorts of feels right from the beginning as Abby goes through the emotional roller coaster of the past with both of the main characters. I did not want to put this book down once I started reading, I was immediately pulled into the emotional battle being waged between 2 people trying to deal with their respective pasts and couldn't see that they had a future together.
A chapter would have me smiling then laughing then would turn on the tears as more emotions were pulled into play for Bailey and Liam.
The last few chapters actually turned on my tears fully and I had to keep stopping to wipe them, we all know it's impossible to read through tears. When it was all said and done my bed looked like a box of tissue had exploded. But believe me this book was well worth it.
This book is very well written and contains broken hearts, mystery, hurt, anger, manipulation, discovery and love with some steamy sexy tension as both Baily and Liam figure out the other has emotional wounds and are left wondering if they can come together and heal each other.
Abby Brooks has written a very spellbinding love story in this book and I highly recommend it.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
I rated this book 5 BIG GOLDEN STARS because it deserved every one of them.
Bailey was a cow. End of. Sitting around in her figurative 'sack cloth and ashes' for 8 years wasn't admirable, and her constant guilt was grating to the nerves. I felt no empathy for her because of her constant wallowing and moaning about being cursed. Liam was far too good for her. I was okay with it all until around 94%. Bailey was already on my last nerve, but I officially hated her from that point on. I wish Liam would have dumped her whiny, guilt tripping butt. I hated it that Liam called her a queen. She's already a demanding, entitled, stubborn brat and will no doubt make his life miserable. He deserved better.
Three stars for effort, but I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend it.
