Liam McGuire is a super famous singer whose tour bus is involved in a horrible accident leaving him with a wicked gash that runs from his hairline to his chin.
This book gives you all sorts of feels right from the beginning as Abby goes through the emotional roller coaster of the past with both of the main characters. I did not want to put this book down once I started reading, I was immediately pulled into the emotional battle being waged between 2 people trying to deal with their respective pasts and couldn't see that they had a future together.
A chapter would have me smiling then laughing then would turn on the tears as more emotions were pulled into play for Bailey and Liam.
The last few chapters actually turned on my tears fully and I had to keep stopping to wipe them, we all know it's impossible to read through tears. When it was all said and done my bed looked like a box of tissue had exploded. But believe me this book was well worth it.
This book is very well written and contains broken hearts, mystery, hurt, anger, manipulation, discovery and love with some steamy sexy tension as both Baily and Liam figure out the other has emotional wounds and are left wondering if they can come together and heal each other.
Abby Brooks has written a very spellbinding love story in this book and I highly recommend it.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
I rated this book 5 BIG GOLDEN STARS because it deserved every one of them.
From the initial hate/enemy feel to the inevitable falling in love I was RIGHT THERE! Abby’s words infiltrated me and pulled me right in so I was experiencing every single thing that the characters were. My heart cracked and then broke during devastating scenes that were written with such intensity.
My heart was rebuilt through beautiful, passionate scenes that also made my tummy flip and flop.
Liam and Bailey were so well written. As total opposites these two should not have worked but Abby managed to pull them together and she did it spectacularly. Both characters were so flawed, yet so beautiful, each fighting personal demons and trying to handle each others. Even when everything implodes and things are pulled to within the thinnest degree their love is UNDENIABLE. It burrows deep into your skin and flares hope and happiness that is then delivered just brilliantly.
Wounded, from start to finish is a breathtaking read that worms it's way into your heart, grips tight and does not let go!
This book tells a beautiful story of two very broken people, wounded in very different ways. Liam's scars are physical, and as one of the hottest pop stars/underwear models on the planet, the scar on his face could very well mark the end of his career. For sassy nurse Bailey, her scars are emotional and have stunted her from moving forward with her life.
She can't stand Liam, and in a crazy way, he finds her bluntness refreshing and invigorating since there's nobody else in his life who treats him like that. As the two begin to spend more and more time together as Liam bunks with Bailey in secrecy as he heals, they begin to heal each other in the best of ways, from the inside out.
Wounded is a touching story, and one that I am so very glad I added to my Kindle collection!
