The Dino is so cute and when he chases the ball or dances or does any of the multiple other actions, it's hilarious! I love that it has its own little "personality" so it growls, sings and acts goofy.
We weren't able to find the Miposaur on the app, but I believe it just hasn't been added yet since the product is so new. Will report back with an update once that happens.
Robot dinosaur is about the size of adult shoe box, bigger than what I thought. Pretty much place batteries into the bot and you are ready to play. There are 3 different ways to control it.
Hand gestures: This is not as easy as it looks. There are different hand gestures you can control the bot. Bot will also respond slightly differently with 3 different "mood" condition. It has a sensor at front and a sensor on the back of the head to sense the movement of the hand. It also has a sound sensor where it will respond from numbers of claps. This is far the hardest way to control the bot. Too much and too fast of your hand signals the bot gets crazy or doesn't respond at all. Works about 80% of the times if you do it right.
Track ball: you can play with the bot using the ball as the controller. It has different setting where the bot will chase after the ball like a pet animal, follow the ball like a leash on a pet, or dance with musics. There are a few other settings we have not tried yet.
Smart Phone app: free MiPosaur app is available for Iphones and Ipads but not yet for Android system. I had to use a different control app from the same company for my Android. It will control some functions but not 100%. Ipad on the other hand has the app for the dino bot. You can control the bot like a RC car, feed the bot, have the bot dance to music, and run a pre-draw course.
My daughter is 9yrs old and had hours of fun with it with different control method. This is a high tech toy and worth $100. A star is taken off because the company doesn't have an app for Android.
There is an app for Android now, will test how it works.
I do need to say that, at first, we couldn't get it to respond and sometimes response was intermittent. However, what we figured out was that because it's a kids toy we needed to be down at a kid's level for the Miposaur to respond good. And it responded very well for us after that. Also, with the hand gestures, they need to be slow and close to the Miposaur for him to pick them up.
What I really love about this Miposaur is that you can pull at or flick his tail or something and he gets mad! There is a circle that lights up on the dinosaurs back and changes colors with his mood. So, while it's usually a blue color, when you make him mad it flashes to a red color. This makes him feel like a responsive pet.
Overall, this little bot is so much fun and we enjoyed learning how to interact with him. My husband was so thrilled with the Miposaur he even took it to work and his coworkers had fun playing with it, too!
I received this product for free so that I may test it out and write an honest, unbiased product review. All opinions expressed are truly my own.
