Their marriage has been on ice for years, and she was no longer the vibrant woman he’d married. He’d tried to encourage his wife from the debilitating depression that she’d been in since they’d lost what no parents should have to, but she wouldn’t take the journey with him. He’d start the healing process for himself, but if his wife wouldn’t come with him, he was going to have to move on without her, or die a living death with her. Then, he finds someone who actually wants his help to overcome the extreme grief that she feels.
The story of Hope and Holden is one of an absolutely unconditional love. It is not a selfish love, nor does it seek to negatively influence those around them, but rather to heal, support and uplift.
Unfortunately for them, others aren’t quite so understanding, and try to forbid their relationship, which could undermine everything that they have tried to overcome, and even though Holden may try to spare Hope, he may have just under-estimated her strength.
The written depth of feeling is so palpable that I was almost choking on the grief of the characters, it was that strong, and the story was beautifully written. I also have to say, that as far as forbidden goes, I really didn’t find it that way. 5 Stars for KB Andrew’s book, Wrapped In Hope. I absolutely loved it!!!
Desmond suffered a devastating loss as well and he is trying to move forward with his life but those around him are still mired in the past which affects his ability to do so.
They are drawn together by a force too strong to deny even though they know that those around them will be devastated by their feelings for each other. Their journey is filled with pain, grief, acceptance and love as they heal each other but will they choose love for each other or love for others in their lives?
This is not your typical boy meets girl and they live happily ever but something so much more painful and messy which makes it something so much better.
Enter Holden, the man she shouldn't love because of who he is.
This story is beautifully written. K.B. takes a taboo story and weaves it into something wonderful. This story will suck you in, break your heart in just the first few pages, sew it up only to squeeze it painfully until the last sentence--and that's a very good thing.
Wrapped in Hope is a fantastic read about what it means to overcome the worst moments of life only to find that they were meant to be there for a reason. If you haven't read this book, do so now. It's perfection.
