About the Author
I am a reader and a lover of words. I am a blogger turned author. I am a mother of three, a wife and a dog person. I have always written, sometimes poetry, sometimes just to vent about failed relationships, however in parenthood I have found my voice to help keep my sanity. Words have flowed from me, to review and with the support of amazing friends in the Indie community I have decided to pursue my dream of writing! I love to write and read romance, because isn't that something we all yearn for? Whether it be flowers and hand holding or just the right tug on your hair. Isn't that what life is about? The human connection?

Ok...so... Let me start by saying this story is insta-love at its finest. I normally dislike that but it works well fir this story. Corbin, our hero, he is my new BBF. He's a sexy, loving, bad-ass Marine. I love everything about him. Where can I find a Corbin for myself?!! Maura, well I liked her, until... One thing I REALLY hate in my books is cheating or the h/H hooking up with people after they've been with each other. Maura sleeps with her guy BFF, a member of her dad's M.C., while her & Corbin are apart due to her misunderstanding a situation. It was VERY difficult for me to continue reading after that. For that reason I knocked this book down to 3 stars.
Dawson is the MC President’s twenty-two year old son. Growing up he and Maura were nearly inseparable but things started changing when Dawson turned thirteen and women started catching his attention. Now Dawson wants more from Maura but she wants a “normal” man who is not involved with the MC and who is not afraid of the MC lifestyle, but trying to find one in Lake Green is nearly impossible since everyone knows that Maura is off limits.
Corbin Marx, an out of town, Harley riding Marine on leave, sets her body on fire at first glance. Maura and Corbin have an intense attraction from the start. Maura sees an opportunity to get involved with a “normal” guy who doesn’t have any club affiliation and can’t be scared off by her affiliation. What starts out as something fun and flirtatious turns into something much more.
When Maura is confronted by a rival club, her “Marine” protects her and she must now let him into her world -- will the Club that she loves destroy her shot at getting what she so fiercely wants?
Abby’s debut novel is an excellent read -- very captivating. Not your typical MC or military romance but a great combination of both. You’ll not be disappointed. – a sexy marine who kicks ass and takes names later, a tough as nails biker chick that totes a gun, rides a Harley and doesn’t take s*** from anyone. A little bit of everything combined in this great read. (i.e. passion, drama, suspense, and NO SHE DIDN’T moments) Thoroughly enjoyed and look forward to more. I’m especially wanting to know what’s in store for Dawson (and Jenny too – please Abby – I loved her).
Of course, things can’t be all that simple. There are things going on with the club and misunderstandings that affect their relationship. Moments that, as likable as Maura is, she seems a little young. Even so, this book was fast-paced, entertaining and sexy. It made me laugh a few times and I liked the audio a lot. I’ve listened to this narrator before (she narrates the KC books) and she has the cutest voice. Perfect for Maura! I liked Maura and Corbin and was a happy reader by the end. 3.5-4 stars!
Thinking what if I grew up like Maura that would have to suck having a group of men wanting you every move. Preventing you from ever having a boyfriend or a normal life. That would suck . So of course you are going to fall crazy in love with a sexy military guy that sneaks in under the radar. That was my favorite there Corbin already had Maura hooked before the guys knew what was going on. Then all hell broke loose and Corbin proved that he was going to be her protector as well. Take her away from her normal life he took her some place quiet Corbin did everything to show his feeling for Maura then he got a call needing to report back to duty so Maura tags alone of course she will she loves him. Then they are at this dinner party and Maura over hears things and instead of asking Corbin she takes off and goes back home.she is tore up missing him drinking everynight to try to forget but she can't so she leaves goes back to the B&B a week after ariving she finally charges her phone. Then she get the phone call from Corbins dad. And your just going to have to read the book to find out the rest. SORRY ;-)
What I love about Abby's style is there are no dull or useless parts. Every page and paragraph are important to read, the events unfold one after another and the reading goes by very fast.
Her characters are so honest and raw. They uncover the most intimate and embarrassing details about their personalities and lives.
Some of the events are somewhat predictable, mostly from understanding the characters well, but other moments in the book came as a total shock. Overall, really well written and great great story!
I'm really looking forward to more books by Abby!
