Editorial Reviews

Review

"If you've read Real or The Beautiful Disaster Series the first thoughts that come to mind when reading what this book is about is it's going to be similar. And for the first few chapters this book feels very BD like. However once it gets going you are going to be at a loss for words."
-- Samantha

"What do you call a book that makes you lock yourself up in the bathroom before the last two chapters just to pour out all the tears that's been welling up in your eyes?"
-- Liza

"This is a hard book to review without spoiling, so let me just say that you MUST read this book...especially if you like hot, muscled, tattooed MMA fighters with a vulnerable side."
-- SGalley

"It's the best college/new adult title that I have read in a while."
-- Helena

"OMG I LOVE YOU HUNTER!"
-- GoodReads Reviewer

"It's a beautiful, emotional, painful, beautiful love story that I highly recommend."
-- Rosarita Reader

"Get this book and find the few hours it takes to read it. Don't be like me and start it at 10PM and be mad at yourself when it's now 3am and you are still reading, but can't stop."
-- Darci

"[Hunter] totally took over one of the top spots in my favorite book boyfriends!"

OOOOMMMMMGGGGGG!! I cannot get this book out of my head. Wrecked was utterly amazing, so addictive and unique. I just loved it to pieces. I have been telling everybody about this book because it is stuck in my mind and the ending left me wanting, no needing more. Priscilla West is extraordinary; her prose and premise kept me hooked and Hunter, every female needs to read about Hunter.

Lorrie Burnham is a twenty year old that’s returned to college after taking three semesters off. Lorrie’s parents were divorced, but her father still loved her mother and couldn’t live with his ex-wife being murdered. Lorrie had to endure a televised trial and dealing with the hype that surrounded it, became a homebody living with her Aunt.

Lorrie arrived at college early to get settled and was sitting on a bridge contemplating life when she leant over too far and fell into the icy water below. Trapped beneath, Lorrie tries to break through without success and believes she is going to die. A strong hand breaks through and grabs a hold of Lorrie, a muscled and tattooed guy. Both shivering and freezing cold, the guy takes Lorrie back to his apartment to warm up.

The guy offered her clothes and a warm shower and while he was warming up, Lorrie ran off embarrassed. Back in her dorm and to her three dorm mates, Lorrie is trying to get this guy out of her mind and concentrate on being back in college. Her best friend, Daniela has been there with Lorrie throughout the trial and is excited that she’s back.

Daniela convinces Lorrie to go on a double date with her, but it didn’t go so well and Lorrie feigned her need for the bathroom to head out and see what the kafuffle is outside.

Wrecked. Priscilla West
Review from Jeannie Zelos Book Reviews.

Occasionally I like a foray into the new adult market. I love plenty of angst in my reading, and usually this provides it. Wel,l Wrecked sounded a good candidate so I began it looking forward to some heavy emotion. And it delivered!
Lorrie – ah Lorrie, she's trying so hard to pick up her life after the tragedy of her parents death and the ensuing scandals. A real tough time for her, but she's trying to move on. She's not ready to date though – just day to day living provides more than enough for her to get through, without adding relationships into the mix. Then she meets Hunter, in an unusual way. There's an attraction on both sides, but he respects her decision that they will be just friends. Hunter has some hidden secrets too though, and combined with Lorrie's problems will they prove too much for them? Hunter – the campus man all the girls want, cage fighter, tattooed, laid back – he's all the things girls like Lorrie need to avoid. Yet underneath he's a different person, and he desperately wants to get closer to Lorrie.
I love the dance of two people attracted to each other and yet running away from it – its two steps forward, one back, a sensual tangle of words and actions. Slowly events pile up, until without my noticing they've become on the verge of a relationship. There was some intense drama here – I loved that. I loved Hunter too, but at times found Lorrie irritating. Maybe that’s harsh on my part as she had so much to get over from her past, and she seemed to be doing it and moving on with Hunter into a relationship, and then it all went badly wrong..Arghh – I wanted angst and I got it in spades! This book is really moving when things go awry, and I felt so much for both of them.

Holy! Prepare yourself for the ride that Priscilla will give you on this book. Just when you think everything is getting better, think again.

Release date is not until December 16 but has was lucky to find an ARC over NetGalley.

Note: Spoilers ahead

OH MY GOD. I can't explain what I'm feeling right now. Do I feel bad? Do I feel good? Well, I feel both. I feel bad because the book ended but did not really end. Get what I mean? I feel good because Priscilla is such a damn good storyteller.

Meet Hunter and Lorrie. Two broken individuals coping up with the past, the present and future. Hunter is not only a fighter inside the cage but a fighter inside his life. Battling with a probable killer disease has taken almost everything from him--- his Air Force dream, his ex- girlfiend and in the end Lorrie.

Lorrie has been the center of the media not because of a fancy life but because of a family destruction that hers had. Mother murdered by her stepdad and a father who took his life. She always though she was strong just like her father told her in his suicide note but meeting Hunter had required her more strength than she ever needed before.

I was caught up within a rollercoaster of emotions finishing this novel. Admiration towards each characters' individuality; giddyness from the love that emerged between them and pure sad tears towards the end. Just when you think everything's okay, think again.

What do you call a book that makes you lock yourself up in the bathroom before the last two chapters just to pour out all the tears that's been welling up in your eyes? To me, this is a great book!
