Editorial Reviews

DVD and 24 page booklet documenting over 5 years of installation work by the artist group Keep Adding. Over five years in the making, this DVD documents A History of Wrekage by the artist group Keep Adding. Co-produced by videographer and artist Scott Pagano, the documentary gives viewers an up-close and behind the scenes view of Keep Addings site-specific installation works. In 2006 Keep Adding displayed their most ambitious version of WREKAGE at the Center for Contemporary Arts (CCA) in Santa Fe. The exhibition centers on an epic installation comprised of adobe structures, spray paint murals, pools of water, light boxes, and a haunting ambient soundtrack by contemporary composer Richard Devine. The DVD includes a 24 page booklet with an introduction by curator Craig Anderson, essay by art historian Mary Anne Redding, artist statement and full color images. The DVD features over 60 minutes of original 5.1 surround audio composed by Richard Devine exclusively for the WREKAGE project.

Top Customer Reviews

I'm surprised I've never heard of the small New Mexico artist collective known as Keep Adding. These guys give you a peek into their dazzling world of dynamic abstract graffiti, turning abandoned surfaces, ready to be demolished, into gorgeous works of art. The DVD is a document of their work over about a five year span, covering various locations, eventually culminating in a pretty amazing gallery installation. The music that accompanies the film compliments the visuals perfectly, and the choice of electronic musicians is nothing short of stellar.

I would have given this film five stars if they went and did some more in depth interviews with the artists, and perhaps had some more special features. Maybe I'm just being picky however, since witnessing the process
of these works evolve into some amazing art is in itself very satisfying.

This film is highly recommended for graffiti and street art enthusiasts, electronic music heads, and anyone with an open mind about art and music. Let the sights and sounds speak for themselves.
