- Make sure this fits by entering your model number.
- Large, clear digits - just A glance from across the room and you can easily read the timer display with it's big, bold digits. Ideal for those with not the best eyesight.
- Counts up and down - as well as a countdown timer and minute timer This can also act as a stopwatch counting up from zero. Perfect timer for homework, exercise, gym workout, cooking ( Egg timer ), sports, games and classroom timer activities. Maximum time is 99 minutes, 59 seconds.
- Loud sounding alarm - you will easily be able to hear this alarm in another room. It is loud and clear but not deafening. The mildly hard of Hearing should have no problem with the alarm.
- Magnetic back, retractable stand and hook for hanging - you have 3 different choices for placement of the kitchen timer. Either stick it to the fridge door with its large magnet, or use the pull out stand for table-top use, and finally you can run a piece of string through the hook and hang it on a wall hook or around your neck if you are on the go.
- On/off switch - surprisingly a lot of timers do not have an on/off switch due to the minimal power consumption. But many people prefer Electrical items to be powered down after Use, and with the small, subtle on/off switch on the side you can do just that.

Update: contact made with mfr and an updated model is now on Amazon with stronger magnets. The Mfr made good on the one I had by sending me the newer model. I had a chance to test it and it does hold much stronger. The mfr is also addressing the issue of the letter markings. Overall customer service was outstanding and now rates 5 stars.
UPDATE: Within a day of posting this review, I got an email from the manufacturer apologizing for the defective timers and letting me know that Wrenwane would not only replace the last one but would refund my money for the previous three. So far (1 day :), the new one looks fine, so maybe this time I'll have the same luck a couple of thousand other people have had with the timer. Meanwhile, while the stars are really supposed to be for the product itself, I'm upping my review to two stars for Wrenwane's excellent and responsive customer service. Way to go, Stephanie of Wrenwane.
It has a stand that you can pop out on the back so you can set it upright.
The magnets on the back are very strong so it won't fall off the fridge door every time you open or close it.
It has an on/off switch on the side so when you're not using it you're not wasting battery.
Only one AAA battery needed. The battery cover plate is not flimsy, so no need to tape it shut.
The alarm is nicely loud, not crazy loud like a smoke detector. It's a medium/high pitched chirping BEE-BEE-BEE BEEEPP, , , , , , , BEE-BEE-BEE-BEEEPP... and it lasts for 60 seconds or until you press any button. If you have normal hearing, and you are near it, you will hear it. If it's in another room where the TV is on, probably not.
I bought this because I want to quickly set the timer and for an alarm to go off when I'm taking my 15 minute breaks and 30 minute lunches at work. I work from home and even though I have a very comfortable environment, for payroll purposes and legalities I'm required to clock in/out for lunch. When you work from home it's easy to lose track of time, get distracted or just forget to clock back in. I've tried the timer on my smart phone but it's too easy to accidentally close that program or not hear it at all because I'm on the phone.
It's a Wrenwane. Rhymes with Lil Wayne, in Maine, pouring rain, hip pain, insane, in brain. WRENWANE!
Apparently the lack of audible feedback on button presses and the on/off switch are customer requested features, so YMMV. This is certainly the simplest, most minimalistic of the three timers, and just survived being launched across the kitchen without a scratch when I was taking it off the fridge earlier.

If you want to change the setting, just press the Minutes and Seconds buttons together. This sets it back to zero and you can then enter a new time. The alarm is quite loud and you can usually hear it from the next room, If in doubt, take it with you. You can turn the alarm off by pressing the Start/Stop button again.
Unlike most other timers, you can use it as a stopwatch. All you do is reset it to zero as before but, instead of entering a time, just press the Start/Stop button and it starts counting upwards until you press the Start/Stop button again.
There is also a power switch on the side, which turns the timer off and the screen goes blank. This also clears the previous settings so it forgets what the last one was. There is no advantage in switching it off since it will have a negligible effect in conserving the battery. This is because LCD displays do not use electricity, except when they are actually changing. I think you will probably find that even if you leave it switched on all the time, with average use, a single battery should last you several years.
It is mainly white with 3 blue buttons – minutes, seconds and start/stop. It is easy to operate and has a large clear display and an easily heard alarm.
It can count up and down and be used as a stopwatch. The maximum time-set is 99 minutes, 59 seconds.
As it has a magnetic back it can be attached to your fridge, or the stand can be used to place it on a surface. Alternatively there is a slot where you can thread some cord if you wish to hang it up.
It also has a useful memory function i.e. it will automatically return to your last setting.
An email support address included.
I am very happy to recommend this product
The only thing i would add that it doesn't have already which could be helpful would be to have it back lit.
I would definitely recommend to others it does the job its intended for at a reasonable price.
As well as timing when the kids clean their teeth, read a book for 30minutes before bed, timing homework and planning breaks say at the weekends and over the hoildays, and now with home schooling with being off due to the Coronavirus.
I even use it to time myself doing coursework as iam at college doing a night course. I usually do it in 15/30/45 and 60 minute slots.
Christmas dinner, we have approx 30 round for Christmas so this is fantastic to time meat, the veg and various other elements.
The only down side to these timers is that they do not have a clock on them, or count up.
They also only go up to 95 minutes which is great for most things but if you need much longer say for cooking a turkey as this takes many many hours you will need a 24hr timer instead. Which you can also buy from amazon. We have purchased one of these 24hr timers especially for the Turkey at Christmas and as a clock and counting up. All in all very useful we use every timer we have in the house. They only take x1 AA battery/are magnetic which is great to stick to the fridge/freezer/Dishwasher and cooker hood while you are in the kitchen doing other things. However it is small enough to carry around, durable for kid use especially if it gets dropped. We have dropped it many of times and they ddont break and still work.... plus at the back it has a stand..... So my kids either stand it up in the bathroom while they are cleaning their teeth, or stand it on their desk while doing homework.
I love the fact it takes 1X AAA battery rather then a button battery which most timers take.
The screen is lovely, big and clear.
You can set the timer to max of 99 mins 59sec, plus you can either stand the timer up or can attach it to the fridge with the magnets which are on the back of it (but this does muffle the sound slightly when attached to the fridge as sound output is on the back near the magnets) but this doesn't hinder it much as the timer is very loud sounding.
I love this timer and would recommend this to all my family and friends
I haven't used my timer for baking or anything, instead I choose to use it for time outs for my granddaughter, she is 7 and has ptsd and anxiety so likes to know what's going to happen next. This timer allowed me to successfully give her a time out without it being hours of a struggle, she sets the time herself as that's how easy it is to set and waits for the alarm to go off, simple as that. I also time her with activities like getting dressed, brushing her teeth and bathing and she trys to beat the time I set for her so it's all a fun game.
This timer counts up and down, and it also remembers the last time setting used.
For me this was the perfect product and I would recommend it to anyone thinking of buying a timer
This timer counts UP and DOWN.
The alarm sounds like the usual alarm clock, so it's easy on the ear.
Overall, the dimensions are 80mm x 75mm x 20mm (as stated on the packaging).
The instructions are on a sheet measuring 80mm x 175mm and although it has a small print, around size 7 in Arial font, they couldn't be clearer and easier to understand. Wrenwane also provide Customer Services email address and Website address but no telephone number (I had a quick look at their Website and couldn't see a telephone number). The Home page on the Website states the following:
Wrenwane provides a range of home accessory products that not only meet the highest quality expected from our consumers but also at very affordable price. Established in October 2013, Wrenwane was trademarked and added to the UK register in February 2014 and the US register in July 2014. Our product line primarily sell on Amazon in the UK & US, with several best sellers.
Just needs an AAA battery, which is great, because our previous timer needed a costly disc battery.
This timer has magnets at the back for putting on fridge or similar, it also has a hook for threading string and hanging facility or you can use the retractable stand.
As far as I can see, this is a winner for me!
