Product Description

This seasoning is produced by burning fresh cut hickory chips, then condensing the smoke into a liquid form. The liquid smoke is then scrubbed and filtered to remove all impurities. Dog rescue groups use this to put on rags due to the strong scent to draw in a lost or runaway dog. They put it on rags & hang them around the feeding station/traps to get the dog back. I don't know how it tastes, but it IS a strong odor for that purpose. Anyone with a dog rescue in the area, especially if they are volunteers, should donate this stuff to help them.

Yes, this stuff is great for bear bait. Very concentrated, so wear gloves so you don't get any on your hands. I'm sure I'll use it for jerky, but if you're looking for a scent to attract or as a cover this worked great. Mix a little water with it and put it in a spray bottle. Why not buy something you can use for more than just bear bait and it was cheaper or the same as what some bear bait sellers had. Plus I got it delivered in time.

Wrights is wonderful for all sorts of things. Most people don't need a gallon but if you use it a lot or share amongst two or three households, this gallon size is highly recommended. My mother uses it to make smoked salmon and its wonderful. You wouldn't know it from the 30 a pound stuff

Goshhh i used to love Ribs, steak, jerky, all that, but a little over two years ago I decided go cut out meat for health reasons and because I no longer wanted to eat animals.

So i have times where i miss that flavor of the bbq, smoke, and savory.. but thankfully I like to cook and I make meatless substitutes which is where this product comes in! It gives my recipes that great hint of smoke i've missed.

I have used it to make mushroom jerky, veggie burgers, lentil [meat]loaf, chili and more..

The ingredients are plain and simple, with no color additives or anything like that which is a huge plus for me!

definitely one of the higher quality liquid hickory smokes out there and I recommend it to anyone who loves smoke and to my fellow non-meat eaters

I bought this to make jerky with. Buying it this way is about half the cost of buying an equivalent amount of little bottles at the grocery store. One upside to having a giant container of the stuff is you don't feel bad about experimenting with it, such as brushing it onto tater-tots or adding some to soups or salad dressings.
