Though a relatively short guide, this ebook briefly covers most topics of creative writing with an emphasis on fan fiction. It does a good job in explaining how to make leaps of progress in your first draft, how to organize your information (with tables and outlines provided), how to stay in character, and how to run through the editing process painlessly. It also brings up common fan fiction terminology, such as the Mary Sue and Alternate Universe, with explanations on how those aspects affect the story (positive or otherwise).
Personally, I feel the information could better cover "description" in general and how it ultimately pertains to the actions of the characters and the setting. I also feel there should be more examples in the more difficult areas (such as giving more comparisons of "showing vs. telling" to illustrate the point further, and where "telling" may be acceptable.)
The book also have a helpful glossary and a list of sources the author has read at the end so that you may know where to look if you want to learn more about a certain aspect of storytelling. In short, this is a great reference to beginner's guide to writing good fan fiction and also a great review to experienced writers. You won't be disappointed.
I would recommend this with a VERY GOOD creative writing book/course (if you can afford it.) i wouldn't recommend it as a stand alone source.
