About the Author
Johnny B. Truant is an author, blogger, and podcaster who, like the Ramones, was long denied induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame despite having a large cult following. You can connect with Johnny on Twitter at @JohnnyBTruant, and should send him an email at email@example.com if the mood strikes you. Sean Platt is speaker, author, and entrepreneur. He is co-founder of Collective Inkwell and Realm & Sands, writes for children under the name Guy Incognito, and has more than his share of nose. You can find Sean at SeanMPlatt.com, Follow him on Twitter at @SeanPlatt, or email him at firstname.lastname@example.org. Johnny and Sean, along with David Wright (the guy whose curmudgeonry stance on western research inspired the Unicorn Western series) host two podcasts: the horror/comedy show Better Off Undead and the Self Publishing Podcast. Both podcasts are available on iTunes and the other podcast directories, as well as on Stitcher Radio, and both are for mature audiences only.

It doesn't matter if you are a beginner, someone who has published a few books, or have a lot of experience, you will get a huge amount from this book, which is jam-packed with all sorts of useful information. It's like a How To on how to build a publishing empire. I had several lightbulb moments reading this book, and I know you will too.
These guys know what they are talking about, they have published millions of words, self-published to great success, sold a series to Amazon, and built a loyal readership that will follow them anywhere.
And they tell you how to do it too. Do yourself a favor and grab a copy.
EDIT: I received an ARC of this book, but without any agreement to review, let alone give any certain type of review. I receive tons of ARCs all the time and most never even get read, let alone reviewed...
There's no get rich quick in here and no easy writing formula. Instead it's an honest guide that tells you what to do, how to do it, and how you too can succeed if you're willing to put in the work and effort.
The good news is that if you love to write, and love to entertain or teach, and are willing to KEEP writing and publishing, you can succeed in the world of self-publishing, and this guide tells you how to do it.
Part of me thinks that this book might actually upset people who've recently read those 'kindle gold rush' books and were hoping for big, quick, long-term success by 'playing the system.'
This is not a text book or manual. Instead, this book is written in a funny, casual style from the point of view of the writer-podcasters, and is as much about them and their journey is at is about success in self-publishing; Through their eyes, and their successes and failures, you learn what you need to learn.
I enjoyed the book quite a bit, but I also like the authors and have listened to their podcast. The podcast is also funny and casual, and much beloved as much for the guys themselves as it is about writing and publishing. This books holds true.
An honest look at the world of self-publishing that doesn't promise Internet Gold in 48 hours (registered trademark) in exchange for $97. Rather, it offers specific instructions on how to get launched as an indie author when starting from nothing, and an honest appraisal of the work involved. Written by guys who know their trade and have inspired me to make the dream happen.
