This is just my quick take on the book. From the moment I finished IN THE END, I impatiently had to wait for spare time to pop up so I could start this series. And let me tell you…the wait was worth it. I was in desperate need of a zombie fix and Ward delivered. She is an amazing story teller, making you feel as if this zom apoc is happening right outside your door. A definite must read for those that loved the first series. But so far, from reading book one in this one, there is no need to have read the first series if you want to jump right on in. I just happened to love that series and suggest it anyhow.
Zombies, suspense, a smidge of romance…what’s not to love? 5 Love Me Some Zombies Stars!
It definitely is a page Turner, can't put me down kind of book.
Now for the cons. The only thing I found so disconcerting was the colony. I just didn't get it. The this particular colony was set up and ran. There was no who, so why is everyone following blindly or scared. Especially since it seems they have the means to do so. Maybe in the next book it will make more since.
I fought reading this book for a long time. Like I said before, I don't like zombie books. This is the exception to the rule and I dare you to read it without having the same review.
I glad I di
Joss is a strong female lead character and can certainly take care of herself, but we do get to see a softer side of her when she meets Ryan. I liked the interaction between Joss and Ryan although there is little romance in this book. There is, however, plenty of kick ass action.
The story became more interesting towards the latter part of the book when the scene changed and more characters were introduced.
The book ended on a cliff hanger, and although I didn't mind reading it, I didn't love it enough to continue on with the series.
I'd recommend this book to those who enjoy post apocalyptic stories with zombies and a strong, smart female lead character.
