Lister is my new favorite author. Characters are well-developed, storylines hold my interest, and although I'm not a religious person, I always gain some new insight about the Creator from his books. He's definitely not "preachy", but he evidently is seeking, as is John Jordan. There's always a good mystery, and Lister's words take you to north Florida and Atlanta, and embed you there.
All three are worth a read, but Lister did his best work I believe in Blood Work. A great assortment of characters all tangled together, all just enough different than the average Joe. Takes the reader back 40 years to get the true justice, a father & son working together toward a honest concluding answer to their own questions!
Low rating due to language and sex. Michael Lister appears to be a talented mystery author. His plots and well thought out and keeps one in suspense. I wonder, however, how many of his readers are totally put off by his liberal use of the f-bomb and unnecessary detailed descriptions of a sexual nature. I did read all of Blood Cries, became disgusted early on Into Blood Oath. So, sorry, Michael. You're off my list.
