Based off of a light novel of the same name written by Fujino Omori and illustrated by Suzuhito Yasuda, Is It Wrong to Try and Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? is set in the world of Orario, where adventurers band together and look for treasures in an underground labyrinth known as Dungeon. However, for Bell Cranel, fame and riches are secondary to what he wants to find the most: girls. He soon finds out though, that anything can happen in Dungeon, and winds up being the damsel in distress instead!

This is def not a 1... or a 5... but some 3 year old probably thought this was hentai and got mad when it wasn't and gave it a 1. It's odd, has good action scenes, alright story, has many trope's. It's alright. It's like a 3 1/2 to 4 star... somewhere in there if this is your sort of thing.

So im on the 3rd episode so far, and im really liking this anime, if you like sword are online, and like a harem then this is for you! the only problem is it is a little bit pricey.
I can understand as it has both the DVD and BLU-RAY of the series, but my main question is why? either you want one, or the other? its like its saying *you want BLU-RAY? ok! but just in-case you don't know what that is, we shall throw in the DVD too!* The limited edition case is also pretty neat as well. Its pretty much paying more for the same series on a different format. I never really understood why series do this, if i want DVD i will get DVD, and if i want Blu-ray, i get Blu-ray.

So here we have another collector's edition that fails to live up to the US collector's edition, apparently all it takes is to give the release a couple of slipcases and a poster and you can call it "collector's", never mind all the additional physical extras that others get loaded with.

The good news is that the dub is fairly good from what what I've listened to, nothing stands out as being wrong or hard to listen to, and while I've watched this twice on the sub it does make me think that I would probably also enjoy watching it all the way on the dub as well.

This is a really enjoyable series and a great introduction to the franchise, it's a harem action adventure with a likable main character, he's weak but wants to get strong, and unlike another protagonist in a popular series, he's not overpowered from the start, and will often be left in a bad shape and if often fighting against himself and his own fears.

His whole reason for being an adventurer was to meet girls as his Grandfather had told him that if you rescued a girl in a dungeon she would fall for you. The twist is Bell is saved by Aiz (and yes I will use the proper light novel spelling and not the anime spelling) and he falls for her, he runs away from her screaming and then realises that if he wants to be noticed by her and to have a chance with her, he has to get stronger, and this is his motivation.

The series follows his adventures in the dungeon and around the city, the girls he meets and the friends he makes, I said it's a good introduction to the franchise as it doesn't go as deep as the light novels and if you watch it after reading them, it becomes clear that it's not as good as them either, but it is good enough. If you enjoyed this, read the light novels, as there is no second season (the follow up that was made was based off the spin-off series) the light novels are the only way to find out what happens next, and they go from strength to strength.

The sound is good with a decent soundtrack, it does what it's supposed to same with the OP and ED, and yes the OP animation launched a thousand toothbrushing memes.
The animation and battles are well done, it's pretty much your standard looking anime of this type.

On the whole it's an enjoyable series that's entertaining, it's not the best anime out there but it is a solid one, it does what it does well, it's one of the better harem animes and a pretty good dungeon adventure anime.
