First let me just say...the cover on this book? HOT! I'm so used to seeing lots of skin on romance covers (not that I'm complaining) but I had forgotten just how freaking sexy a guy in a dress shirt and tie is! Love it.
This is the first book I have read by Kadie Scott (It looks like it's the first book she's written unless she has another pen name? It's the only one listed on Goodreads anyway) and I really enjoyed it. It was such a fun, sweet, cute read. I loved that BOTH the MC's were these socially awkward, "geeky" types. It was a fun twist from the usual "one nerdy, one not" books I've read in the past. I loved not just the banter between the two, but also the internal dialog, as their thoughts had me cracking up. The things that slipped out of their mouths, and their attempts at flirtation, were hilarious. I loved that Drew actually went to the book store and bought a book on how to talk to women. And that Cassie later found it. I loved that Drew wouldn't wear his glasses with a camera after the first day as his team totally made fun of his horrible attempts at conversation. Drew and Cassie were just too cute. I enjoyed the two of them so much and the attraction and chemistry felt real to me.
This is the first in a series and I can't wait for the next one. It says it will be Max's story. He is Drew's friend and I can't wait to learn more about him as he definitely snagged my interest.
I received this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review
In this book you have Cassie, who is a highly intelligent data analyst. Drew constantly struggles to live up to her mothers high expectations. She is always compared to her brothers who are highly successful, smart doctors. In walks Drew, sexy as hell, highly intelligent FBI man. Drew is there to investigate Cassie on a high profile cyber case. She is his main suspect. But when their eyes meet for the first time, there is no denying that this girl will be trouble with a capital T. She is just as drawn to him as he is her. Will Drew be able to prove that Cassie is not the bad guy? Will Cassie lose her heart to him and then have it broken?
This book was such a cute, steamy romantic read. I absolutely loved the plot line. It was a bit different than most of the steamy romance books out there. I loved the characters of this story. They were invested in their roles and have wonderful charisma. I love how Cassie speaks her mind without her knowing it. It is extremely funny. Drew is so cute with his “how to” books for interacting with women. And OMG the sexy nerd jokes. Loved it! If this author is not on your read list, then I highly suggest you check her out. Definitely pick this book up. It is a wonderful read. I give it 5 stars.
I was given an ARC in exchanged for my honest review.
A pink flush crept into her cheeks. “Maybe.”
Oh, holy mother of geeky heroes! Nerdy sex jokes definitely do it for me—and for Cassie, clearly—and The Wrong Kind of Compatible is full of them. And clumsy, unintentional innuendo. Which is, like, the holy grail for nerd-loving readers like myself.
You guys, this book is so delightful. It’s light-hearted and completely charming; an easy, fast read that’s jam-packed with likable characters and a fun plot that engages from the get-go.
I adored Drew and Cassie. They’re equally brilliant, the same amount of awkward, and totally right together. Their burn was slow and sexy, inevitable and totally winning. Basically, this book was a joy to read, and left me smiling, after making me both giggle *and* swoon—sometimes within the space of a sentence.
I have not read Kadie Scott before, but if this is what I can expect in the future, you can bet I will be back. Especially if the Love Undercover series continues with Max. Lordy gordy, I hope he’s as geeky as dear Drew…

The characters of Cassie and Drew are pitched just right - an absolutely ideal balance of awkward with humour and snark.Read more
