This is the first time I am reading this author. The introduction to her characters is easy and you understand the mind frame of the mobster Nick. Whilst he is not a good man by no means, he does have a soft spot for Sarah. Sarah has a sweet nature and you will feel for the situation she has found herself in. The question is “Out of the frying pan, into the fire”. Nick propositions Sarah to protect her, but is the proposition any different to what she finds herself in at the moment. The only difference is that she is very attracted to Nick and the chemistry is off the walls. Nick seems to be her saving hero on numerous occasions all while fighting for position in the Spada family. This was a good read and I enjoyed the story of Sarah and Nick. There was lots of excitement and this book had lots of drama with a strong storyline – I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more.
Nick saves Sarah from Sal, a fellow member of the Spada crime family. He's watched Sal be abusive and is unable to fight the attraction that he and Sarah have for each other. He makes Sarah an offer, his protection for her agreeing to give him a child. He's ready to settle down and wants to start a family. Sarah really has no choice but to accept considering Sal is her other option. Sal isn't so quick to agree to this plan.
I wasn't sure how I felt about Nick at first, but decided I liked his character. He cared more about Sarah than he was willing to admit and was determined to protect her. Sarah was okay as a heroine but her decision making skills lacked and drove me a little crazy. I'm not a fan of the stupid heroines who continually put themselves in danger and are too naive for their own good.
When I purchased this story, the first book Filthy was also included.
