Product Description

Color: Black

Wusthof Grand Prix II S-11 Serrated Utility Knife 40404-7/12. With a 4 1/2 inch blade this knife is both a serrated and straight utility knife, ideal for multiple food preparation. The serrated section is placed on the rear of the blade and includes 11 micro serrations, while the remainder of the blade is straight. The blade consists of high-carbon stain resistant stainless steel with a bolster for gripping and protecting fingers. The edge of the utility knife is the unique PEtec technology available only from Wusthof which enhances the sharpness of the blade by 20% and lasts twice as long as the traditional blade technology. The blade on this knife is precise and uniform from the tip to the heel, and features a 14? cutting edge on each side. The handle of the Grand Prix II serrated utility knife features a polymer pebble-grain texture which provides a slip-resistant grip. This Wusthof Grand Prix II S-11 micro serrated utility knife is hand crafted in Solingen, Germany and comes with a lifetime warranty. Wusthof suggests hand washing your Grand Prix II utility knife.

I give the knife itself a five star, but Amazon's advertisement brings my rating down to a three because of poor oversite. The picture shown on the website (as of 7/27/13)is totally wrong - they are showing the bread knife (4155/20cm), not the micro-serreated knife! The model number on what I received is "4040/12cm 12". This is important because it is very easy to confuse this 4.5" knife which *does* have a serrated edge with the standard 4.5" utility knife (4040/12 14 or 4040-7/12)which does not have a serrated edge. I have both knives and wish they had given the micro a differnt model number because at first glance they almost look the same. As always, a well balanced, sharp knife, this twist on the utility is very handy to have and use. Hopefully with this review the image will be corrected so more people can see this beautiful knife.
