I'm not an avid cooker, nor do I know much about knives. But I just bought the Wusthof pro pairing knife and have really enjoyed it. I also have the victoinox fibrin handle pairing knife (although it is very old and hasn't been sharpened in awhile). I have included a picture of the two for anyone trying to choose between them.
The blade of the wusthof came out of the box much sharper. The blade of the wusthof is much thinner and flexible than the victorinox. The handle of the wusthof is a lot more thicker than and a little less cheaper looking than the victorinox.
I personally like the blade of the victorinox, but like the handle of the wusthof.

Great little paring knife. Useful to have the right knife for the job. I have used this almost daily since getting it. This is the first Wusthof knife I have used - I didn't know much about the brand apart from reading reviews, but I was just watching a Gordon Ramsey clip in which I could tell he was using one in his kitchen - so there's an endorsement of some kind I suppose. Highly recommended.

Super sharp and super light at a very low price. Very different feel than the classic Wusthof knives. The blade can be flexed 30 degrees without snapping, which is how I broke my Henckels paring knife. Can be washed in the dishwasher without dissolving the rivets--since it has none.

Awesome deal. I'm a bartender, and although I own a set of Wustie Ikons, I wanted a good paring knife to bring to work. It came pretty sharp, but I always re-edge my blades on a waterstone. It's sharp as a razor now.

Just keep in mind that this steel is stamped not forged, thus softer, so you definitely want a 20 degree angle instead of the typical 15 with forged wusthofs.

This little knife is a kitchen workhorse. I break it out for quick cuts, peeling vegetables, hulling berries and other small jobs and it is a great kitchen tool. After using it for a month now, the knife has held its edge and looks as great as the day I bought it. The grip is especially nice as it offers a nonslip handle, a feature that is definitely appreciated versus other knives I own. Great looking knife, would buy again.

This is one of the two sharpest knives I've ever owned. The other is the Wusthof Pro Chef's Knife. For the price, these are unbelievable quality. I can't believe I've been getting by for so long with my super dull, heavy old knives. This one is extremely light weight, thin blade that just melts through everything. Onions, celery, cheese and meats...I wouldn't have believed it could be that easy. Wow. I would definitely buy this again and highly recommend it to everyone I know.

This $7 knife is better than a $50 paring knife. Have purchased 6 for gifts and I have two for my own use.
