I'm very critical of my security cameras. I use four different types. If this camera did all of the features as advertised, I would gladly pay four times the price. I have four of these now and I will buy more I'm sure but holding off until a few bugs are fixed. I feel I'm a beta tester for WYZE right now. I'm sure I got one of the first ones out the door (I had pre orders into Amazon). I evaluated these with the free two weeks of advanced features but hate subscription services. I can get by with just the basic features. The most significant issues to me: they are recognized by my Alexa units with screens but can't be viewed like the WYZE V3's I have. There is also an issue with sound sensitivity settings in relation to it not triggering a recording. The above issues are being reviewed by WYZE but they are not very responsive in keeping me in the loop as to the progress. But, like I said, well worth the price.

I can't tell any difference between the WYZE Cam v3 Pro and the WYZE Cam v3 in video quality. The little light on the front doesn't really extend the night vision but brightens up the area close to the camera. The camera comes with a one-piece USB cable. You don't have the pigtail from the cam where you had to connect a longer cable. It seemed like the pigtail would be better water resistant as there's no seal where the cable plugs into the cam now. To me, the extra cost isn't worth the little light. My Ubiquiti and Amcrest cameras all outperform these, but they're cheap and have decent quality. They used to have firmware allowing you to use RTSP to connect to an NVR. They removed it, saying it was too hard to maintain. I think the real reason was to lock you into the Plus subscription.

Was hopeful for this upgraded version from the V3. A recent software update (Oct/Nov 2022) hit my V3 camera collection pretty bad. All sorts of weird issues with playback and recordings, but havent really had any software issues with the V3 Pro, yet. Main issue is the compatibility with accessories i already own. cant be used with garage door opener or light sockets (only power if you swap the usb cable and lose the seal). Not sure why we had to change the connection size on the back.. but a major bummer. Do not plan to replace my old V3s for the Pro.

I'm just shaking my head in disbelief by Wyze's haggling, aggressive and deceitful marketing, and greedy sales strategy.

In short, you're paying twice the price over a v3 camera and you're getting MUCH less for your money with this new v3 Pro camera.

So far, I've purchased two original v1 cameras, two v2, two v3, three of those light bulb socket USB power adapter thingies, and now, regretfully, a v3 Pro.

Throughout the years, I've seen Wyze slowly and gradually remove completely free and somewhat revolutionary features from their products. These features were in fact, the reason why I bought their products in the first place.

With the new v3 Pro there's no free 12 second clip recordings, no more RTSP, and the list goes on. It's all going away! You want those features? Cough up a monthly subscription, pal!

As other mentioned, the 2K resolution is barely an improvement over the 1080p from the v3.

The one and only reason why I bought this is new camera was because it comes with a built-in motion activated light. But the shortcomings are too great. The price is also just about twice that of the regular v3 camera. It's just not worth it. It takes a long time to get the video streaming going. It's a mess.

I'm definitely returning this half-baked product, crippled by pure greed. That's right, their greed clearly got in the way of common sense this time around.

Dear Wyze-a$$ corporation and founders (Yun Zhang, Dave Crosby and Dongsheng Song): If you're expecting a monthly paid subscription from me, after butchering the release of your most revolutionary camera yet, so badly like this, not only you're not going to have it, now you've lost yourselves a loyal customer altogether, that could be purchasing your new hardware today and in the future. I'm not paying for a subscription. Ever.

I'm done with Wyze products moving forward.

Well, I pre-ordered this new one for the increased resolution alone. To that extent, It's better. Not 2x as clear, But maybe 60% better.

REALLY disappointed that this one doesn't support 5g wifi networks. Get with the times guys. 5g wifi is old tech at this point and there's no reason a wired device can't support it.

Resolution bump is where good news ends. This thing is so buggy as to be almost unusable. It is literally a brand new product, I'm hoping that multiple updates will quickly roll out.

Issue #1 Connectivity - Literally has the previous model in the same spot with zero issues. My wifi router is expensive, Very powerful, And maybe 50 feet away. Should be no issue.

Issue #2 Playback - About 90% of the time, It's unable to playback a recorded event. Not sure if this is problem with the free trial license or what, But I already have an unlimited recording / playback license I'll be transferring to this camera once the free trial runs out.

Issue #3 Recording crash - This is an old Wyze bug that they still haven't fixed that mostly plagues the battery powered outdoor cameras, But now this one. The camera glitches, Records for 5+ minutes, Then goes offline (Or drains the whole battery, Then goes offline on outdoor cams). This is kind of a serious flaw and one of the reasons I bought a wired version. Now here I am manually resetting it.

My advice, Skip this for now and wait until the reviews improve.

UPDATE: Camera has developed a whole new issue, Once a day it records a 5 minute video, Crashes, And has to be unplugged and plugged back in. Customer service was incredibly unhelpful, I am now returning this junk.
