On CD!!! Official, 2013 release, remastered, made in USA, been waitin toooooo long! BOA's best studio album, they were peakin. Hard to get they're energy on a studio recording, but X-Rated is only outdone by Raunch & Roll and Live Mutha. The sound is clear & robust, very impressed. Greatest album cover of all time. Shipped from Germany to Texas in 11 days. Time for some Bump N' Grind!

If your expecting something thats X-Rated, this is far from it. This is a solid album from BOA. The band is back together (as of 2013). I bought it at at a live show. I have heard it mentioned that this is available from the bands website, although it is not listed. Contact them. This is one of my favorite BOA CDs. The band is in fine form. The song titles may make it seem a little X-Rated, but it's not. Good solid rock n' roll from a great band. They have a new CD (2013) called "Back Thar N’ Over Yonder”. I would pick that up too. I can play this one in front of the kids.

This is Black Oak Arkansas's best album and three of my favorite cuts are "Fightin' Cock", " Strong Enough To Be Gentle" and "Wild Men From The Mountains". Jim Dandy and the boys were at the peak if their Raunch and Roll career and are still going strong today. I recommend this album because it is absolutely awesome from the beginning chords of " Fightin' Cock" to the last growl of "Too Hot To Stop."

While it chaps me to have paid $25+ for a single cd...I will say I'm glad I did! Had previously worn out a couple copies of this on vinyl and it sure is good to have it on disc! This is a very solid effort by BOA, certainly one of their more accomplished studio LPs. While, overall, I have to say that High On The Hog and Ain't Life Grand are still my top favorites of their studio LPs, both Highway Pirate and Wild Men From The Mountains from X-Rated do rate as two of my all-time favorite BOA songs.

I don't know what to say except, this has been a long awaited addition to my BOA Cd collection! I had all of BOA's LP's...but they were lost a long time ago...I guess that gives the reader a hint of my age. Needless to say I've been a BOA fan & listener since their beginning and have followed their progression over the years. This is one of their best albums in my humble opinion and you won't go wrong in giving it a listen too...

This is an unusual band due to them having a most unusual singer, James Mangrum ( known to most as "Jim Dandy " ), check him out singing the 'Beatles song Taxman'. I first came across him when i purchased an album called Flash Fearless & the Zorg Women, which had a variety of artist telling a story, they hoped in the future to make into a stage show. Well, that never happened sad to say. However, i was knocked out by this " Old Man's voice " ( sorry Jim ) on two of the tracks and so started digging around to find out who he was. I found Black Oak Arkansas. That was around 1975 and i never looked back. My single most regret is that i never followed up on one of their back up singers the wonderful Miss Ruby Starr, whom sadly passed away far to early. And with no CDs available of hers i don't know if i ever will be able to. Come on Amazon this lady needs to get some exposure out there. If you haven't heard or tried Black Oak,and you do like Southern Country Rock, give them a go. You might be pleasantly Surprised. Very happy with this, even more so as i have waited years to get this CD. Now, Ruby Starr & Grey Ghost, OH YES PLEASE !!??

Another solid effort from BOA. I love these early studio albums by the band. IMO that catologue is one of my favorite slices of Southern rock right up there with Skynnard, Hatchet and 38 Special ...but not including the Allmans or ZZ Top which are on a whole 'nother level.

Got myself a vinyl version and its simply lovely. True classic record of the genre. Thanks SquareDealonline and Tomasz personally for packing me a lovely copy. Although I had to wash it, the state of the platter, after I removed all the dust and dirt, is truly excellent. Cheers and thanks.
