Working but not perfect

The screen was delivered in good packaging and appeared new. While trying to verify part numbers, I observed that the original OEM label from LG was covered with another one. After removing the second label, I found that the part number on the original label matched expected P/N and that it was also marked with a red dot.

Installation was straighforward and the new screen worked as expected, except the fact that fair number of pixel in the middle of the screen are hot (always on). For my usage - where most of time the background is white - this is not a big issue. But the defective pixels are quite visible on black background.

screen is perfect

The screen is the correct part- it was build for the X220. The screen functions perfectly. The screen protector is barely noticeable besides an C that looks like it is written in a few red pixels. I initially mistook it for fixed pixels, but it was simply the screen protector. You don't notice it when the screen is dark, so it is easy to miss.

However, I can say that this screen is a noticeable improvement over the OEM tn display and that I am please with this simple and inexpensive upgrade to my aging notebook.

Surprisingly this replacement worked perfectly, actually a little better than the panel that came with my laptop. I expected it to not be an IPS panel or be some other type of cheap TN-panel knock off, but it did work as a plug in replacement (IPS), and the screen problems that I was having are now gone.
