Make buying this laptop and how little I used seemed ...
Make the purchase of this laptop at first is a little disappointed because the description of the screen said it was LED but actually the screen of this laptop is LCD, not a screen resolution but for the price I think that is in the range, the rest the laptop works excellent, very fluid windown, wifi working properly, gaming than demanding works very well, the battery has good durability, is light and easy to carry around because it is thin media, only drawback is that it has bluetooth but it's a great computer for the low price

I had been looking for an inexpensive computer for over a year before I found the ASUS X550ZA. I'll admit I was slightly skeptical. It was exactly what I had been looking for at a price less my minimum budget.

First of all, It's a fine looking laptop; more apple than PC in it's aesthetic. Minimalist design with very little in the way of ornamentation. The build isn't terribly high-quality nor is it exceptionally cheap. The keyboard's typing action is smooth and comfortable. Crisp and full speakers make listening, and composing, music enjoyable.

This laptop's only obvious shortcoming is it's poor battery life, but it charges quickly. It performs admirably when playing PC games like Cities Skylines, Minecraft, and Gone Home at medium to high graphical settings. I'm extremely satisfied with this computer.

What at first seemed too good to be true is truly a good value! It even enhances whimsical wordplay, maybe.

I am enjoying this machine. It was a great deal imo.

👍 I like:
-- decent size screen with a good picture
-- the laptop looks great, I like the back design and the black keyboard with the silver outline.
-- this is smooth & speedy for surfing, media, office, etc and even for less demanding games like WoW, LoL, diablo etc
-- great price. I got it for $100 cheaper here than from other sources
-- windows 10 upgrade is a plus (even if it's free)
-- built in Mic works pretty well, decent sound
-- battery charge seems to last about 3 hours and doesn't take long to charge. This is better than my previous laptops, so this is a Pro for me.
-- shipped very quickly!

👎 Could be better:
-- Only 1 headphone/Mic jack.. if youre like me and have a headset with 2 different plugs, you will only get to use one. And if you plug a mic into the jack, sound doesn't come out of the laptop speakers.. :/
-- graphics card is mediocre. As I said, WoW runs pretty well. Good-high settings running 50-80fps. Could be better.
-- the back of the laptop is susceptiple to scratches/grease stains. Beauty comes with a price, just be careful.
-- if you are a gamer, the laptop and ac power cord gets hot. There's a sticker on the laptop that says "keep your hands ice cool" nope. wrong. It blows warm/hot air and your hands will be sweaty. The ac power unit will get very hot if it's plugged in while gaming. be very careful.
-- all of the stickers on the laptop are majorly crooked. This is my OCD talking but geez.. I figured a human put the stickers on but I've never bought a laptop with the stickers completely crooked and out of place.
-- webcam is atrocious, works though.
-- I saw one review saying the speakers were great. Speakers are meh.. but they will do.
-- aww I wish it had a backlit keyboard lol

If I forget anything, I will add it on.

If you're getting this laptop, I would find another antivirus better than McAfee. I prefer Webroot Security. Also I got rid of Internet Edge and got Opera.

(UPDATE)
Over 2 years later and it is still going strong and being faithful. Running programs and games alike smoothly. Yet again I will repeat, treat it well and it will treat you well.

First off, the people who rated this under 4-3 stars must have not bought the laptop from Asus, or have treated it poorly. Some of the reported problems sound like hurtful downloads from untrusted sites, yet some I do believe due that hardware isn't always perfect.

I must be the lucky one, I have owned this computer for around a year now. I use it for schooling, everyday use, and gaming.
All the hardware works as it should, windows 10 flows exceptionally. Plays nearly any low-mid rest game, hint, if you expect it to play every game smoothly your expectations are way too high, there are computers built for gaming, do not expect this to uphold a gaming laptop. Although it handles them pretty well, it handles Dota 2 on max graphics, Ryse: Son of Rome on low, Paragon on medium pretty well. All it needs is a bit more Ram to make medium for a ton of games, which it is capable of holding up to 16gb. The graphics card holds up well along with the nice processor.

The only difficulty I had was that the bottom center bends slightly, but its no big deal. As well as no DVD player software yet was fixable by getting VLC.

Overall I've been very pleased with this purchase at its price for its specifications and performance.
Thank you Asus. this is my first computer of yours, yet I know many others that own Asus brands and are satisfied with them.

Great computer for the price. The screen resolution is pretty bad, though, in hindsight. I would recommend using a monitor when possible :)
