I build computers for customers that want high performance machines. One thing I always have to consider is the manufacture's warranty and customer service of the parts I install. XFX is one of the few companies that are fast in responding to warranty issues. This is why I currently shy away from ASUS's great products, poor customer service.

I have been running this card for about 2 weeks. It is very important that you thoroughly clean your system of old drivers. I use DDU at Guru3d. I installed the newest beta 14.4 drivers. At stock speeds I was not overly impressed with the card. Installing an overclocking program helps keep the throttling under control. Be aware of MSI afterburner, even though it is a great overclocking program, it can interfere with many other programs and can ruin installs and uninstalls of other programs.

So with a clean install of drivers, and a 15% overclocking with a 10% increase in power limit 1100Mhz GPU and 1400Mhz memory. I was able to achieve a 3Dmark Firestrike score of @ 10000 and extreme score of @ 5000. I have a socket 2011 MB with 32GB ram at 1600Mhz and a I7 3820k at 4.6Ghz

In BF4 with Mantle enabled I am able to achieve 90-120FPS in ultra, everything maxed on a 1080p monitor. I can also Max out and play Maxpayne 3 super smooth (haven't Benched yet), Arma 3 is Awesome and super smooth.

So it can eat up everything you can through at it. For the price of 439.00 it out performs the Nvidia GTX780 and is right on up there with the GTX Titan and TI. Nvidia makes great products, but they need to get competitive in pricing again.

Mining performance. I have just started dabbling in mining and am a newb. But I was not able to get that normal Khs that others were able to achieve.

Preforms really well on Battlefield 4, I run this card crossfire and I average 170 FPS BF4 everything turned up to the MAX so definitely worth the money i payed however i payed 500 dollars a piece anymore than that for this card and you don't plan on OC'ing it than buy a 780 or a 780ti or 290x. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!

Edit :

Forced to under clock my cards to prevent game crashes hopefully its just bad drivers which from what I've been reading is the case but I will up date after I talk to AMD and see what they say but overall there still killing games i had overclocked and was getting phenomenal results and still do but curtain games are just misbehaving I digress overall these cards are killer and I would still recommend them to anyone in the market.

April 24, 2014 -

With beta drivers 14.3 everything is running really well no problems what so ever even was able to Overclock these bad-boys to get some extra power so all in all really happy all my prior complaints have been addressed and now my cards are running better than ever!!!

Definitely Recommend!

May 24, 2014 -

Got my 4k display today, My cards are running surprisingly well Bf4 constant 60 fps Ultra everything 3820x2160 and that's with FXAA plus v sync without v sync i get like 70-75 fps but that's not needed on a 60hz panel. However the cards are using 100% constant and are now hitting 94c or at least the main one is the other one doesn't go above 75 or 80.. I'm looking into adding 2 more cards to my setup but the only problem I've encountered is AMD doesn't make a motherboard with enough slots I currently use a 9590 for my processor and they don't make a single extended motherboard with the AM3+ socket unfortunately. Intel here i come :).... GREAT CARD!

I had problems with Black screens on CCC 14.1, I then re installed Windows 7 64 bits in a fresh install, the problem was still there, so I had to downgrade the drivers to CCC 13.12, everything was "Fine" except for that fact that this card perform horrible in the games I play.

I played World of Warcraft to find out that at Ultra the game would get dip down to 30 FPS, which matches the same performance I had from my Cape Verde HD 7750 That barely cost 80$

I also Played Smite, a MOBA that I play a lot to find out that my FPS were dipping below 40 FPS, which again matched the performance of my HD 7750 Card that only cost 80$ in a very very light game.

At that point I stopped playing any game and started troubleshooting, installed Windows 8 and 8.1, both times the performance remained mediocre at best, I tried connecting different cables to the card, changed the PCIe Port, changed BIOS, nothing worked.

My Temps never reached 80c which means it wasn't throttling the performance, also the VRMs run hot, VRM1 Ran at 90c.
My PC is as it follows:

CPU: AMD FX 8350
PSU; Thermaltake Smart 750
Motherboard: 990FXA-GD65v2
GPU: XFX Double D R9 290 STOCK.

I'm truly disappointed, it crossed my mind that maybe I got a bad card, but who knows, I'll return it as soon as I can and ordering a GTX 780, I used AMD For a long time and always was my favorite choice since my Gigabyte HD 7750 Performed so well, but I guess AMD is good for budget performance, not enthusiast, or maybe is XFX Fault. Who knows.

EDIT: I totally love this card, those things above did happen but they all were problems not of the card but of the latest AMD Beta Drivers (14.
