Points to know:
1) The card is BIG. When I saw the listing photos I figured it looks similar to my previous 3-fan card so I assumed it would fit. NOPE. I literally had to cut my case with tinsnips, as shown. Now, I'm not the kind of person who minds bent metal -- The case will be closed anyway. But if you like things to be pretty, measure your case first and consider getting a new one. As shown the dimensions stated it the listing are pretty accurate, but they don't include the little metal tabs at back where you screw it in.... 13.36" is ONLY from the mounting plate to the other end. Although height didn't affect me, also observe the 5.43", which is similarly deceptive because it does NOT include the gold contacts which drop descend into the slot. It's from the top of your slot to the upper edge of the card with the lettering. (Which is pretty in the dark but I wish I could turn it off.)
2) I read enough that I knew this in advance, but I had to upgrade my power supply. I've seen this card guzzle 257 Watts at max settings. The photo shows the power supply I went with from Amazon -- 850 Watts should do, as my PC was already fine with the previous 450Watt power supply before the upgrade. Mind you, the way I play with vSync and other settings, it only uses half as much power, but you don't want to have to worry about that.
3) Make sure your power supply has air! (And your PC case too.) This is where I almost returned the card: After a few minutes of play, my computer would suddenly HARD crash -- Like, a black screen, a buzzing sound, and only the power switch gives any relief. I thought it was the card -- it wasn't. Apparently my new power supply, which is quite adequate and absolutely necessary, has a fan underneath it just like the old one did. Although it blows through an open hole in the PC case, the PC is sitting on carpet. My old PS never complained, (with an RX5600XT) but the new power supply overheated and I assume the power dropped. Once I put my computer up on a couple blocks, it's been smooth sailing and the power supply itself is fine. It's just more picky about airflow than the smaller power supply, which makes sense.
4) Uninstall your old drivers! I know that seems like common sense, but since my old card was also Radeon, I figured I could just keep the "AMD Software: Adrenaline Edition" onboard and it would work fine. Problem is, it looked AS IF worked fine, so it was sneaky. It recognized the new card and didn't complain. But when I launched games I got a few little graphical anomalies... Not big ones, and not even very intrusive... So at first I didn't suspect the drivers were to blame. But when it started crashing (see #3) I tried reinstalling the drivers to address that issued. Well, it didn't solve the crashing, but it DID solve the graphical issues.
