No other way to describe this except for !@#$%&! amazing! Wrap up Blessing in Disguise, Hanging in the Balance and Human Factor all together and it violently spits out XI. What delivery from Mike, Kurdt and the boys! Shadow sent chills up my spine!
Thanks Metal Church!!! Can't wait for the full effect on tour!

I saw the review that said all the songs sound the same. Lol. Idk..not true. There was so many different riffs and styles rapped up in this I wanna say top 4 cds ,I'd say it's one of the best since the dark !!
He even uses the raspy type Dave o Wayne in his voice. So if you like the first 3 albums you will love this cd. I'm telling all my friends about it now. And I assure you repetitive it is not !!
Great to hear Metal Church back and with Mike
...just killer. Now go buy it.

This CD is excellent. Great production for a 'Rat Pak' records release, excellent songs and a solid album from start to finish. Catchy, strong Accept-like riffs and some great solos. If you like them during the 'Blessing in Disguise' and 'Human factor' era you should love this. No really long or dreary songs. A couple are slower pace but build nicely. Just solid Metal. Nothing else to say. Solid riff-driven metal.

Only faults are some of the lyrics are eehh, and the packaging is really light. Only folds open to a pic of the band. no lyrics or many credits. No major deal, but would have been nice to have a little more. Guess they paid more for the recording and mixing than the packaging.

A Must have 2016 release by a great band (when they are right). Kudos to the Church. Pick it up if you like them.

I've been a Metal Church fan for over 20 years. While I have liked all the lead singers, I always gravitate to the albums with Mike Howe as the vocalist. My clear cut favorite was Blessing in Disguise. When I heard this album was coming out, I really wasn't sure what to expect. After all I hadn't heard Mike Howe sing in over 20 years. Having listed to this album several times now since getting it Friday, let's just say Mike Howe hasn't missed a beat. Sounds like he did in 1993. This album sounds like it should have been the album to follow Blessing in Disguise. It has catchy guitar riffs, great Mike Howe lyrics/vocals and overall just great musicianship. If you liked Blessing in Disguise, The Human Factor and Hanging in the Balance, you're going to love this album.

This album is their best since "The Dark" came out 30 years ago. Mike Howe's voice has not aged AT ALL, and their musicianship and songwriting has been kicked up a notch. A necessary CD for any thrash fans' collection.

I was really impressed with XI! Old school thrash with a modern sound! This is a MUST buy. I didn't buy it from Amazon but I bought it from FYE.com and got the deluxe version with a second disc with 8 bonus tracks for just a couple dollars more than what Amazon was charging for the regular version.

This Album kicks serious @$$! I eagerly awaited this release ever since learning of the reunion with Mike. I actually went to Rat Pak records, after receiving an e-mail ad, and got the CD that comes with a bonus disc of 8 tracks, 5 of which are new songs, including the re-recording of Badlands, which is killer, as well. This album is totally 5 stars and probably 9 out of 10, if I could rate it on a 10 scale. I would bet any Metal Fan would love this release. There are at least 7 out of 11 gems on here and a few tracks that are very good on this disc. The 'Bonus Disc' includes 5 new tracks and a demo and 2 alt. versions of 2 others, and they're all incredibly terrific. Don't miss this release. Mike Howe sounds, frankly, better than ever. I don't know what they're feeding him, but I want to be on that diet! Great record from one of my all-time favorite bands!

Wow what can I say.....Metal Church is all the way back! This album is simply Killer and Mike Howe's performance is truly amazing! I can't describe it any better than the reviewer who stated this album is like Blessing in Disguise, Human Factor, and Hanging in the Balance all blended together and violently spit out!
If you're a long time Metal Church fan like myself it is almost surreal to hear Mike Howe back singing again, much less in absolute top form! I honestly never thought in my wildest imagination that would ever happen again? It's almost like a time-warp circa 1995 where grunge never happened, Metal Church never broke up, and they just released their follow up to Hanging in the Balance........what a gift!
Despite giving up hope of a Mike Howe/Metal Church reunion I was at least happy that they were able to reform and carry on with Ronnie. While he was certainly not in Mike Howe's league, his voice fit the band well and I found their first 2 albums with Ronnie (Weight of the World and A Light in the Dark) to be excellent in there own right. This album however finds the band completely reinvigorated and inspired with Mike Howe now back at the helm!
Great songs, a fantastic production, and the return of Mike Howe all make this album a triumphant return to form and a must have for anyone who considers themselves a true metal fan! Here's hoping this line up can stay together for many years to come and deliver more outstanding albums like XI! Thanks Guys......Metal On!
