Flat bench press (moderate weight <100lbs)
Decline bench press
Sit-ups and crunches
Hyper extension (weighted and unweighted)
I have a relatively small home gym of about 200 square feet so space is a premium and I was looking for a solid multipurpose bench. I purchased this product because I already own other XMark equipment and the reviews for this bench were good. I recommend this bench if you're looking for a solid, multipurpose bench and won't be using massive amounts of weight (I've done flat bench press with 2x50lbs dumbbells and while the bench holds up nicely, I sensed I was pushing its limits a bit). I've had the bench for a while and it is solid for other exercises.
One weak point in my opinion is the barbell rest under the preacher curl pad is inadequate and so I don't bother placing the bar there and just set it on the floor. Otherwise a great bench, a little pricey, but solid product and great addition to my gym.
So, this is a fantastic addition to any home gym setup, sturdy, sized well for any body type (I'm 6'2" and plenty of support) male of female; large or small. It uses a rather small floor footprint, easily moved to the side or pulled out for quick moving circuit routines.
I use this not only for the advertised uses, but medicine ball exercises, Russian twists, declined reverse crunches, dumbbell bench work (presses, fly's etc.), I also use it for standing oblique crunches, dips, plus I have a few other things in mind as well
Well made, sturdy, versatile and excellent pricing; much more value than the smaller less versatile products in this category. Well worth the investment.
There's a video on YouTube that shows you can also use it for tricep kickbacks, but I prefer to use a cable column.
It's much, much more solid than the prior hyper-extension bench I had purchased. Like something you would find in a professional gym.
