Editorial Reviews

Review

"I loved this travel memoir. The writing was wonderful, in a self-depreciating kind of way. Nothing about Lizzie's life or her family's is cookie-cutter or average. I appreciated her brutally honest stories, witty narrative and was glad to come along for the bumpy ride. Even though I don't agree with some of the choices she had to make, I also don't judge her for them. If anything I admire her for taking risks when most people, including myself, would choose the easier, safer route. Highly recommend this book!" -like to shop

"It's a courageous, funny, in-your-face book on an unfunny dark real-life experience. Bravo for the author's honesty." Amazon reviewer

"Intriguing, shocking, funny, poignant--this memoir is all these things." Karen Burns, author of The Paris Effect

"A seriously entertaining read. I was swept away in a tale that reads like fiction. Only it isn't!" - Amanda van Mulligan, blogger and author

"Thank you for your funny and honest tale. I told my kids about Xani the vegetarian dog... they loved it :)" - Renia, artist

"Lizzie Harwood writes in a colorful yet straightforward way that makes anything she writes pleasant to read, but in this case her story gets a big boost because her job was so fascinatingly insane that one has to keep reading to find out what will happen next and how it will end." -Paul R. Spadoni, author

"This is certainly a page turner for many reasons. 1. It's hard to believe this kind of world exists, but it certainly does. 2. The amazing storytelling has you rooting for Lizzie while simultaneously screaming into the pages, "What were you thinking?" 3. The soul-baring nature of this book takes you right back to your own early twenties and makes you marvel at the guts it took for the author to relive those years of self-destruction and doubt and share them with the world." - M. Ozemet, blogger at Laughter is Better than Prozac and author <

"I found parts of this book to be hilarious and parts to be very sad. But, I was always cheering for her and I just knew she would find herself in the end. It's a great book, hard to put down, fun to read, and imparts wisdom about a difficult part of life...that transition to adulthood." - Amazon reviewer
