The description is very vague. We are going back to corded everything to avoid radio frequency radiation. I ordered this and a wired controller. When I received them I noticed that this cord wouldn't work with the wired controller. I emailed the company and they said you need a breakaway cable for it to plug into. Well I didn't have one so I sent this back and ordered a usb cable that has a male connection on one end and a female connection on the other end and it works perfectly. Just letting others know.

I ordered this for my son's xbox 360. Because the tv is mounted on the wall and the xbox sits on a shelf above it, when he wants to use his light up controller that's wired, for curtain games, the wire would drape in front of the TV screen. If I snaked the original cable around the back of the TV, he would have to sit closer to the tv or the controller would keep unplugging with every movement. With THIS cable, I was able to snake it around the back of the TV and it hangs about 6 inches on the bottom of the tv. Now he can reach it to plug or unplug his controller and have the remainder of cable to sit further away and sit in his gamer chair. This cable works as it should with no issues what so ever. If anything, I thought it wouldn't work with his light up controller, meaning, it wouldn't make the lights in the controller turn on but it does. Plugs right into the xbox as it should, controller wire plugs into it as it should. It is grey in color but we don't care about that. Delivery was on time as specified. VERY pleased with this purchase. It fixed a problem. Thank you.

This breakaway cable works better than the original by at least a little, and it gives you an extra 6 feet of slack for your wired Xbox 360 controller. However, I got a gray cable instead of a black one, like the image, so, it's a little misleading. But in my opinion, it's not about the color, it's about how well it performs, and it exceeded my expectations. Definitely recommend it.
