Customers are dissatisfied with the sensitivity of the video game controller. They mention that the thumb sticks are less sensitive than an original controller, and the sticks have a slightly different sensitivity than the Xbox brand controller. The D-Pad works well, but the left thumbstick is a little sensitive, but that can be adjusted. The right joystick feels further away than on a regular controller, making it a bit harder to control.

Well, I got this thinking Mad Catz is a good brand. I remember getting a rubberized ps1 controller with really nice rumble and available analog, digital controlling options. Well, when I got this one, all was good. I loved that the controller was smaller. I don't like huge controllers. That being said, its not really any smaller than the 360 default controller. The thumbsticks are smaller however. Made of plastic, so the four "notches" on the thumbstick surface won't wear off unless you take a knife to it or something. They gave me blisters to be honest. The RB and LB are nice, they are flat buttons and have a larger surface area for pushing. The triggers are similar to the Razer Onza's but not that extreme. The A,B,X,Y buttons are nice, they stick out and don't jam on the side of the area or anything when pushing.
Now the bad. The really only problem I had was the D-pad. It is very solid, which is nice, BUT my down button is messed up. I can push down squarely on it, and it either responds to a left or right command. Very annoyning to say the least. May not be a big deal, and hopefully not all are like this but I am just mentioning you get what you pay for. I gambled and tried this controller. I no longer use it because of the few problems I have mentioned. Also I am just more accustomed to the Microsoft controller.
Video gaming is one of my favorite activities to do in the lazy times of the day. I'm a console stud by heart and have a deep love for the console games. It is for that very reason I am very skeptical working with a video game that only works via a mouse and keyboard. Worst of all there are just so many people daily who seem to spam the hell out of others like me saying " Get used to it, it's way better!" and while this could be considered with games that REQUIRE keyboard and mouse use such as final fantasy/etc When it comes to games like first person shooters, you learn to grow a deep hate for the W,S,A, and D keys. Not to mention in the heat of the matter who wants to reach halfway across their keyboard to tap R to reload, or hit U to talk, or N to switch weapons?! I'm a shooter by heart and games like Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead, Borderlands and Call of Duty it takes much more than just skill mastering a keyboard. You break your fingers on the pads and lose a lot of esteem working that way if you aren't into it. It is why that when I had recieved this controller for said games I was in heaven. I had spent weeks attempting to master the games and even as I had grown used to them the fact had remained I was not a PC gamer. With the mad Catz xbox controller I felt like I had the control again and the edge. Most of all I had a one up factor over even the console controller: A smoother compact feel, a more sensitive grip, and full access control mapping to give me the comfort on which buttons I felt better with. I will say I was deeply skeptical over getting a controller for the PC just as much as playing on it. For all I knew I was getting a piece of junk and that worried me. I am glad to say I had it all wrong and in the end I now have another new console to work with that will provide me another full year of entertainment. :) A few things I should mention however about the controller that is not specified is that this is not an exact replica of the 360's version. This was designed to be more compact and the controls to remain tighter as a group. The layout is designed, in my opinion at the very least, more forward for quicker response and certain buttons were redesigned larger for use of ease such as the left and right bumper. The biggest thing I should mention is the Left and Right triggers which were made in a hook like mannor that when tapped feels so much greater than the 360 version. The bonus side to all of this is that it doesn't just stop on the pc though. This controller can also work on your very console providing the same awesome control. A word of advice however to users who are playing Team Fortress 2: In order to gain the full function of your controller you must enter your options menu, go under the keyboard section, go into advanced options and click " Enable developer console" upon returning to the menu press the wave key "`" and then enter on the command "exec 360controller" without the " " at which point your controller will auto tune to the original controls featured on the 360. For all other games the controls easily adjust and can be tuned. :)
I bought this gamepad because I needed second controller. I decided that if I was going to get one, if was going to be for friends when they came over so they could game. This was the cheapest controller out and when I read that I could hook it up to the computer as well, I was sold. The quality appears to be a bit less than the Microsoft brand ones, but as a second controller, its going to be used a lot less. Other than that, the wing tips are a big pointy, which depending on how you hold a controller feels like it could be poking into you (it doesnt to me). The d pad is an actual cross shape, unlike the microsoft one which sits on a circular base. To compare the sticks, the tips of the madcatz one do not have a rubberized feel to them, so the grip on the buttons will be a little weaker, and again that hasnt been an issue for me or my friends yet.
Lastly, there is no documentation about this product on how long the cable is. Im 6ft tall, and the cable is another 1-2 ft taller than me
Bought this from amazon because I needed a second controller to be signed in to xbox for testing reasons. I figured I'd go with the cheaper one since I didnt actually need it for gameplay. BIG MISTAKE!!! After 3 days of very little use.. It just wouldnt work at all. It wouldnt even light up in the center. Just died completely. AVOID THIS CONTROLLER!!
Works well but the shape of the grips are pretty uncomfortable after 10 minutes or so. The thumb sticks are also less sensitive than an original controller.
I needed a second controller so I could do co-op on my xbox, and for that purpose, this controller does fine. The design certainly leaves a bit to be desired; the joystick pads are small, the left and right triggers feel flimsy and not as secure as the standard controller, and the Start and Back buttons are moved to the very top of the controller where they're awkward to reach. Aside from these design issues, the controller feels sturdy enough; I don't feel like it's going to break just from using it. I wouldn't want it for my primary controller, but for a spare, it's fine.
