This is a review of the Xbox Wireless Controller Dawn Shadow Special Edition.Summary – This is an awesome controller both for looks and the OEM feel. Everything is top notch and I love how it is Bluetooth and can even be paired with my Windows 10 64 Bit Pro Windows 10 laptop and PC. This is multi platform and can be used on both Xbox 360, Xbox One and Windows 10 as noted above. As expected, the fit in the hands is very comfortable and natural. There is nothing sharp and it even has a textured grip. In terms of range, we use this approx. 12’ from the console and get a perfect communication. (Also rated to have twice the wireless range compared to the normal Xbox One controllers. You can even plug in a set of earbuds or headphones as there is a 3.5mm audio port built into the controller. So considering this was $10 bucks more than a basic OEM controller, I was very happy. And lastly there is the amazing color scheme. My wife loves this and we do not have to worry about those stick on skins or anything.Note – I was considering a dock, however, all the reviews had a high number of people reporting you had to be very careful to align it just right or it won’t charge. Or some chargers do not turn off when the controller is charged which will shorten the life span of your battery. I have made a final call to just buy more rechargeable AA Eneloop batteries which last very long and have a higher mAh at 2550 and swap them when they are low. Easy, only one charger to plug in and no worries about docks and wondering if they will charge correctly.Would certainly recommend and as with all my reviews, I will update this if this develops any issues with ongoing use.
