-I ordered this stick and Amazon did a great job delivering it. It arrived two days earlier than expected, even. The stick uses a standard plug and play system, so you're able to plug it immediately in any PC or Xbox 360. The joystick is great, I've been told it has shorter throw than most sticks, but I didn't notice a difference. I've improved a lot in the last week I've had this stick, whether it's Dee Jay's dash ultra in SFIV:AE, or his Touch of Death in SF2T. The buttons are stiffer than Sanwa parts, but I'm able to use them without much resistance(piano rolling is a breeze).

-A note to those who intend to mod the stick: the button holes are standard 30mm size, you need to solder/desolder to remove the standard daughter-board that the buttons are attached to, and I think(don't quote me on this one) that the original balltop on the stock stick is 35mm. I don't intend to replace the stick, it feels really quality to me, just replace the balltop for cosmetic reasons.

-Overall, the stick feels quality, it's very durable(friends have handled it roughly, to my displeasure), and it's great for those who'd like a very affordable upgrade. Modded with Sanwa buttons, this stick is very tournament applicable.

I own the PS3 Fighting Stick V3 and love it!! So I recommended this stick to a friend of mine who only has a 360. My friend loves fighting games but played them on pad controllers. Since I introduced him to arcade style sticks he has fallen in love with them. He really likes the response of the stick and buttons, and the turbo functionality. The weight is nice and light making it easy to transport and the sleek design and six button layout give it the comfort and accessibility to execute moves much smoother.

My friend loves the quality of the stick but loved the price even more!! For an affordable price of $69.99, I feel that you definitely get more bang for your buck when you purchase this item!! Good stuff!!

I am an avid shmup player and I finally decided it was time to take the dive and get one of these babies.
Now, many will tell you that Sanwa buttons are superior, but for shmups, I highly disagree. Sanwa are much too sensitive for shmups. These buttons however, are just right. They are slightly convex, with a soft non-clicky push to them.
I can't say much about the stick other than what's already been said, however I will say it has a square gate, which it vastly superior to the American octagon counterpart.

For the price, this is absolutely one of the best purchases I have ever made, and I couldn't be happier with it. It may not be the best for fighting games, but it is absolutely ideal for shmups. So grab a copy of Espgaluda II: Black Label Platinum Collection [Japan Import] and have at it, shooter fans!

A basic fight stick that does what it needs to.

Pros: ease of modding. The back unscrews quickly, and there you are. The blank white casing is nice for mods too.
Cons: the stick this comes with is rather loose, and it's hard to make consistent shoryuken motions with it. I replaced it and am now happy, but just a note. Likewise, the buttons that come with the stick are somewhat sloppy as well. Replacing those is my next to-do.

I like it way more than the stock SE. Burly men only need six buttons to play fighting games. Looks incredibly classy. The buttons offer a nice amount of resistance, if you prefer that to sensitive Sanwa parts.

all around good stick the only reason i gave it a 4/5 is because the madcatz TE stick is better but its $149.99 dollars.

so if you are buying your first stick i suggest the Hori VX its only $59.99 you wont regret it.

This summer, I decided that I wanted to learn to play fighting games. I began by playing Skullgirls with an Xbox 360 controller, and I struggled with doing certain inputs, particularly Dragon Punches. Even after a month of playing, I could not consistently do DPs if my opponent was on my left. I wanted to switch to a fightstick to try and improve my game, but I did not want to invest too much money into a hobby that I might give up on in a couple of months. After doing a week of research, I bought the Hori Fighting Stick VX for $70, and I think it has been a great first fightstick.

The Fighting Stick VX might not have the same build quality as higher-end fightsticks, but it is still well-built. Some of the compromises made by Hori to save money could actually be seen as positives. For instance, the Fighting Stick VX is smaller and lighter than many fightsticks, making it easy to store and carry. Despite its size, it still sits comfortably in my lap and I can lay my wrists on it without any problems. My hands are slightly smaller than average, though, so keep that in mind. The buttons and joystick are generic Hori parts. They definitely don't feel like the high-quality Sanwa parts on my friend's Real Arcade Pro; in particular, the joystick feels a lot looser. Still, everything feels solid and works reliably. I have not experienced any dropped inputs or other issues after around two months of use (maybe an hour a day on average).

I'm not sure if an enthusiast or veteran would like this fightstick, at least out of the box. Many will complain about the lack of Sanwa parts, but I don't think any fightstick under $100 has those. If you really wanted to, you could mod it and replace the parts, but that will require some soldering. If you're a beginner or you're on a budget, this is the fightstick I think you should buy. I have a lot of fun using it for Skullgirls and my inputs have gotten way better since I began using it.
