The pants fit, but are a tad too wide.
A 36 to 37 would have fitted me better.
The 38 has about a 32 inseam. Too small to wear without boots for me (pants won't reach my ankles).
Thick pants, look sturdy and like they can handle a fall.
Great rain pants too, keep you dry.
Great for weather below 78 degrees, which will be our FL winters!
Knee protection is about 3 to 5 in too low, and hanging mid-shinbone.
It also has a zipper on the back to tie a motorcycle jacket to the pants! Great add-on!
As for size, Xelement should remeasure and re-advertise. I have a 35" waist; the 36" pants I got were very tight although the unspecified length was fine. So, Xelement's advertised waist size is 2" smaller than reality. Increasing the waist size of an order by 1 or 2" might increase the pants length and that would be a drag.
Lastly, the pants have elastic on the sides which allows stretch if the pants are an inch tight at the waist. There is a little 4" belt in the front of the pants to allow some tightening/adjustment of the waist. The belt slides through a little cheap plastic loop. That loop broke and shot across the room the first time I tried to tighten the belt. I replaced that loop with a 1" circular ring from a key chain. Otherwise, I would have had to send the pants back or hire a tailor to replace the loop with something substantial; both options would have cost more money than I think the pants are worth.
In summary, novice pants with two defects.
All that said, they are still worth the eighty bucks or so you'll pay. They just aren't worth any more than than that.

Just do it, and be more comfy. They will conform like a baseball glove after a while. The weather might even take an inch off after some years.Read more
