I started catching up with this game since I want to play the Switch version. I am 50 hours into it and I have loved every single moment. This game is probably the best RPG I have ever played. I am blown away. I really was hesitant because I knew it was huge and I do not have much time but it has been worth it.

My initial impression from the prologue was very poor. The prologue has terrible graphics, bad framerate, bad cutscenes, bad gameplay, and all of the male voices sound identical. The game gets much better after the prologue.

+ Good graphics for objects that aren't super close to the camera. Very impressive these large environments can be rendered at decent framerates on the 3DS.
+ A console-sized 3D open-world RPG on a handheld
+ Seems like there will be plenty of dialog, both with major characters and unnamed NPCs.

- All male characters sound exactly the same. Supposedly they hired multiple actors but this is very hard to believe. They could have achieved the same thing with one actor
- Does not support touch input! Outrageous
- Bad, almost nonsensical button layout with no options to remap

The game itself is amazing and worth 5 stars BUT although the copy I ordered was new and sealed it was the Canadian version which has a French logo on the box art. It's not a huge deal but when you are already paying a premium for a new physical copy that is out of print it does irk me a little.

The game defaulted to English when I inserted the game for the first time so if it wasn't for the box art you would never know it was multi language. The cartridge as well has the US sticker on it.

I know they have a Switch remaster set to release summer 2020 but I had to have this game in my 3ds collection.

Now that I am back in the Nintendo gaming realm again I will just have to buy a physical
copy within the first month of release :)

Loved this game on the Wii, and loved being able to take it anywhere. Bought this back in 2015, and while it did take a bit to get used to the downgraded graphics, the gameplay and story were worth it.

Thankfully they are releasing a remaster on the switch next year, so now we'll have portability AND a graphics upgrade!

I couldn't care less that the graphics aren't HD or at the level of the ps vita. The 3D functions somehow makes the visuals look twice as good. I wouldn't play it in 2D because it was gorgeous in 3D. Amazingly expansive. Tons of quests. Load time is amazingly quick despite how large some of the maps are. Replay value is through the roof! Combat system is awesome and great for veteran gamers as well as those who prefer games to be less challenging and a bit more relaxing.

Not happy that I can't get the Shulk amiibo which is the only amiibo that will work for the game. Why give you the amiibo option if you can't even find the amiibo for retail price. Nintendo should really manufacture and distribute more of the Shulk figures because I haven't even seen one in person.

This is my first review, so go easy on me.

Had the wii version and it was damaged in a move and played the game about half way through at the time.
After reading and seeing the reviews on the graphics not looking so great, I waited a while to pick it up, but I can't believe how much I'm enjoying it and regret waiting.
If you never played the original and you are on the fence, go watch a few gameplay videos to see if it's for you. If my two cents means anything and your reading this ill further say that the first half of the game didn't do much for me at all, but now that I'm close to completing it I'm loving it.

This game is great. It looks good (naturally, it utilizes the full potential of the New 2/3DS XL) and is a lot of fun. Good characters and involving story; good mix of cutscenes and action; tons and tons of sidequests.

My only issue is the price, although it IS worth it - just don't buy this as a gift for someone unless they ask for it, or unless you KNOW they have the right system and love open world action RPGs.

And just like the original this game is still a classic. Everything from the Wii version is here but with more things to collect and in portable form.

No tuve oportunidad de jugar el original de Wii pero la versión de 3DS corre muy bien. Gráficamente no es el juego más bonito pero el estilo de arte y sentido de dimensión hace que los paisajes se vean impresionantes. El sistema de combate es muy bueno y relativamente fuera de lo tradicional en términos de un JRPG. Tu personaje principal siempre va acompañado de otros dos guerreros, cada uno con un set de skills diferentes que bien vale la pena probar para ver quienes se ajustan mejor a tu estilo. Para el personaje principal puedes optar desde 100% DPS hasta Healer pero nunca estás atado a un solo estilo, en cualquier momento puedes cambiar dependiendo del tipo de enemigo; versatilidad es una palabra que describe muy bien este juego.

Si gustas de los RPGs no tendrás problema en disfrutar Xenoblade Chronicles y si no tienes tanta experiencia en el género también es un buen punto de arranque ya que el sistema es muy intuitivo y lógico, todo esto sin mencionar que la historia es de primera con un par de giros inesperados. En realidad no hay razón para no entrarle a este RPG considerado como de los mejores en la historia.

Para quién no pudo jugar la versión del Wii, éste es una excelente opción, ya que lo puedes llevar a donde quieras en tu New N3DS.
Sólo hay un detalle, los gráficos y texturas no son comparables con la versión del Wii. Activando la función 3D se disimula un poco la calidad de imagen. Pero aún así deja mucho que desear el apartado gráfico con respecto a la versión del Wii.
