2.0 out of 5 starsDamaged Envelopes and Copy Limit

The printer itself is ok. The set up for the printer took over 6 hours because it took the printer that long to find the IP address. Once the printer was finally connected to the network, it wouldn't print from every computer in the office. We had to have technical support come out and fix the issue. During the time we waited for technical support to come assist us, we found out that the printer would destroy an envelope. We used the sticky adhesive kind due to the amount of envelopes we print a day. The printer heated them to such an extent that the sticky part would crinkle into the front of the envelope, and then it would smash the back half of it, making it completely unsuitable for business use. Technical Support said it was just our printer and he would try it on the same printer at their office. We then stopped trying to print envelopes. It worked fine for the first few days after that. Then we kept getting an "Copy Limit Error" message whenever we tried to copy anything. We called the technical support back and they told us it could be any number of things. He told us it was probably the system in the printer that would not read whatever we were trying to copy. We then told him that if we can't print envelopes and cant make copies, then this printer has to go back. He told us to just request the return on Amazon and they would come pick up the item as they are located in the same town as us. Upon requesting a refund, they then told us there was going to be a 15% restocking fee since we used the printer. Needless to say, we were livid! I ended up telling the girl that since her company told us to return the printer, that we will not be paying the restocking fee since it was a printer system error. She then told us that since we used ink that they couldn't resell it as new. I then had to tell her that if she continued to sell the item again, it still wouldn't work. It took about 48 hours for them to call us and tell us that we were cleared of a restocking fee. Needless to say, its been a terrible experience all around and we caution anyone from buying this printer.
Pros:
- Prints fast
- Nice size for small to medium sized office
Cons:
- Damages envelopes
- Copy Limit Error that doesn't allow the copy function to work at all
- The printer will not send scanned items onto the computer as PDFs, but at JPEGS and it is a tedious task to convert every page.
