The cooler itself appears to work just fine. The directions, however, leave much to be desired. That's rather usual for any heatsink/fan unit I've ever purchased, but that doesn't excuse the crap translation, mistaken instructions, and unclear directions. I'd gladly pay a couple bucks extra for a completely clear set of directions, or a more obvious design that doesn't *need* directions.

Cools my P4 3.2GHZ to about 41C. And, there's enough clearance to go over my chipset heatsink which is very tall and right next to the fan (main reason I bought it, vs other brands). It's not audible, ever. (I did not do a before and after comparison between the stock heatsink and this one, but I can say the stock heatsink was quite a bit louder). Straightforward to install.

I needed a CPU cooler for my new build and decided to go with this one.
Versatile for either Intel or AMD processors and comes with mounting hardware for both. Mine's an AMD Phenom 1090T in an MSI 990xa-GD55 motherboard inside a CoolerMaster HAF912 case. The case gives plenty of clearance for the heatsink and all I was concerned with was the space over the 1st RAM slot. It was close, but the GSkill Sniper stick fits and the heatsink fan just barely touches it.
Mounted the heatsink and fan prior to installing the motherboard in the case because (here's the downside) attaching the fan with the rubber anti-vibration pins isn't easy. You have to be forceful but careful at the same time (fins are sharp).
Used Noctua NF-14 grease on the CPU and temps via CPUID Hardware Monitor idle in the high 20's. You can do a push-pull config fan-wise, but one is enough and quiet too. Recommended.

installed this on an AMD 8350.
had to take the motherboard out and replace the mounts from the heatsink that came with the chip. that was not expected and a real pain.
and the fan attaches to the heatsink by shoving rubber pegs into the metal fins on the heatsink. not what I would call a stable, permanent mount.
but so far, it is running cool and quiet. so it's doing its job.

Theres a little program out there called Prime 32. Find it, download it, and run it.

That program will easily take your CPU up to a 100% and keep it there as it runs, you guessed it, prime number functions etc...
By doing that and getting your cpu hot hot hot you'll be able to fully test your heat sink. Held my i5 3570k to sub 54 deg C for over 15 mins before i stopped it. Granted the Cougar CF-V12HPB fans in push pull setup, but i know that this heat sink is allowing those high quality, high airflow fans to do their job. The rubber isolators connect securely to the radiator fins and keept the fans quiet. The direct contact heat pipes really helps shuttle the heat quickly from processor to heat sink fins.
I used Artic Silver Silver Thermal Cooling Paste instead of the stuff that comes with it, fyi.
Easy-Medium installation difficulty, but as with any larger heatsink (its about 140mm tall, from the MB to the top of the heatsink) you have to follow all the very clear instructions to accomplish a correct installation.

This thing is great. To start off i must say that I do not overclock. But I'm a cool temp junkie and the expenditure seemed worth a try. This is the first after market Heat sink I've ever purchased. Personally, I didn't like how hot my phenom II X4 955 BE was getting. On cpu intensive games it would get into the lower 50's on occasion. I realize that still leaves some head room, but this is in a cool basement apt in the winter and I don't want the weather to dictate what games I play like it did last summer.

I don't have any bench marking data but I can tell you that playing battlefield 3 on high settings my cpu has not gone over 40c. Borderlands 2 it never goes over 35c. I've seen it idle as low as 19c.

Installation was nice. You do have to install a back plate for every socket except for the LGA 2011. But don't let that sway you, it's super easy as long as you don't rage through the process. Just take your time. Once you get it mounted it's a VERY solid mount. Might hang over your ram, but shouldn't be a problem unless you have high profile ram. Also includes extra fan mounts for another 120mm fan if you want to do push pull.

The instructions could be be better, but they could be a lot worse. Same with the included thermal paste. I would also recommend a pair of needle nose pliers for the rubber fan mounts. And a screwdriver.

Cant think of any real cons. Solid product.

This cooler priced under $25 is a deal. It works very well stock but does not cool very well for overclocking. Its a large cooler so one would expect better performance but this isn't the case. However when I added another matching xigmatek 120mm fan (under $11) there was quite a difference. My overclocked amd 6 core fx-6100 would almost hit 60c(not too bad) with only one fan, idle in the 40's. Upon adding the second fan temps never get over 50c and idles at 33c. I would buy this cooler again, it is great for stock settings or a little above and add another fan if needed. Even with 2 fans its rather quite but not silent....
