Directions

Remove the clear safety cap from the bottle. Prior to initial use, prime the pump by holding it upright and pumping one or more times until the solution is dispensed. Clear the nasal passages by gently blowing your nose prior to using Xlear Saline and Xylitol Nasal Spray. Insert the nozzle into nostril and depress pump completely while breathing in through your nose. Spray 2-4 times in each nostril.

Each member of my family has been using Xlear Nasal Spray for many, many years because we each suffer with chronic sinusitis. It has saved us from numerous sinus infections and doctor visits over the years. Our family doctor even questioned what we were doing differently because we were not visiting with the frequency we used to. He proceeded to write down the name of the product so he could tell his other patients about it.
I am extremely sad to say that unfortunately something has changed in the recent formulation. I noticed sodium chloride has been added to the ingredients of the newer formulation. Each use with this new formula creates extreme irritation and no longer promotes sinus drainage as it used to. It also has a bit of a scent, which the other did not. I did, however, notice a difference in the label. The new and irritating version has a label with a 20 year medallion printed on it, whereas the previous version does not. I have reached out to the company and am hopeful they can go back to the old formula or at least locate a few that they can sell me.

A stuffy nose used to wake me up during the night or too early in the morning. Hasn't happened since I started using Xlear. Keeps me breathing without congestion. Works better than saline sprays. Wish I had this years ago.

I have had sinusitis, tonsillitis, ear infections for 30 years, so since I was a baby. I have some type of deviated septum and it runs in my paternal grandmother's side of the family, they all battle upper respiratory issues because the septum and cilia seem to trap it all until there is an indection. I have tried everything, spent dozens of courses on antibiotics, developed resitance to augmentin, amoxicillan, and cephalexan, used Alkolol, neti pots, I even spent $200. on the mechanical neti pot water pic-like device. I have been on numerous websites, seen ent's who just reccomend surgery which have no guarantee, and tried homeopathic strategies. Tried eliminating food which my doctor suggested I was sensitive or even allergic to with limited results. The Alkolol and water pic-like neti combo worked fairly well but was so time consuming and still I was getting sick, albeit less frequently. However the xclear with the xylitol in it seems to be almost a miracle for me. It has been one year since I had any upper respiratory infection and its because the xylitol in the xclear is keeping anything from colonizing. I still have tendencies towards the start of an infection which is because of the deviated septum, virus's and bacteria can not be moved out by the cilia like in a normal person, however I just start pushing the xclear every hour and within several hours or overnight I am fine again. I can not underestimate how much this product has helped me: I have had to miss school and work and in general the chronic infections gave me a poorer quality of life and I was even depressed that nothing seemed to help for more than a month. I almost never write reviews because I don't know what to say, however for all the people out there suffering may be this might make a difference for you, like it has for me.

I used to use a regular saline spray for my allergies, but not anymore.

I have been using this spray for over a year now. After having a deviated septum, I would get the occasional sinus infection due to allergies in the fall of the year. I take this with me everywhere I go as a first line of defense. I get the occasional stuffy nose throughout the day or in the mornings when I wake up due to allergies and other contaminants. The sinus cavities can quickly become a breeding place for bacteria and anytime I feel my nose is a little too stuffy or dry, I use 1-2 sprays in each nostril. Within a few seconds to a minute I will have the need to blow my nose and it really gets everything out of there! I honestly am amazed how well it loosens the mucus and allows me to get rid of most of the stuffiest of noses.

I also find myself waking up with a dry / bloody nose at times during a cold dry winter morning. I use this spray to help moisten and alleviate the dryness. You could use a regular saline spray for this, but I believe some of the chemical makeup of this product (xylitol and grapefruit seed extract) really help clean the nostrils.

All in all, I wouldn't keep purchasing this product if I didn't think it was helping me stay away from colds/sinus infections.

I have some kind of weird Rhinitis, I've tried Everything! I mean Everything! There are some good creams out there that will tackle an infection. That's it! Don't bother with saltwater/saline washes etc etc, I've flushed and rinsed & stuck creams up my nose for many years.

This Xylitol stuff, is really very good, it worked for me straight away and so far the only side effect is slight sugary taste after you use it, and no or very little Rhinitis - Meaning I can breathe, don't have pain or discomfort, very few sores and scabs, even in the morning very little green/bloody mucus, my nose is 'almost' normal.

Been using this now most days for a while, still very effective, but occasionally, maybe once every 2 weeks I still have to use some nasal cream. One other thing I found to help a lot with inflammation is Turmeric supplements.

I get bad hayfever and other allergies. I hate taking antihistamines as they knock me out so I prefer to use eye wash and nasal sprays. I've tried to use saline spray in the past but I always have a really hard time with it and end up feeling much worse.

This xylitol spray works so much better for me. I think the price is a bit on the high side but given that it's the only thing that works for me I'll keep buying it.

Xlear also do a sachet version but, although it works, it's such a faff because you have to use boiled water and if you want fast relief it takes too long. So I decided to just pay a bit more and get the spray and is much easier so I'll probably just get this from now on.

I got this as I have allergies and a blocked nose half the time. The Vicks spray works well for me, but obviously that's no good long term as your beak gets dependent on it.

But this, blimey. I can only assume this has a different effect on different people, given the number of positive reviews there are. It's absolutely useless for me. If anything it seems to make a blocked nose worse. It doesn't seem to be much more than oddly sweetened, slightly salty water, and my nose reacts with disdain. The hunt for something non-addictive that actually works goes on.
