Product Description

Mykos is a fast-growing, beneficial fungi that connects many of the eneficial microbes in the soil to host plants. This "symbiotic" relationship inceases the supply of nutrients to plants, increasing the availability of both moisture and most of the fundamental elements required for plant growth. This greater nutrient availability leads to a bounty of healthier bigger plants and "Bumper Crops" Mykos has been used to produce world record-breaking pumpkins every year since 2006.

I know there is a considerable amount of debate about the merits and virtues of Mykos, Azos, Hygrozyme, Orca, Great White and a few others, I think the Humboldt company has a product, even Oregonism, I believe, is another by a different manufacturer. I personally don't have a budget to purchase all of these products and perform side by side experiments/trials, nor do I have the space. While I think such an endeavour might be called for, it isn't my place or ability, at this time, to do so.

Before I picked up my FIRST bag of Mykos I did some looking on the ever-reliable [...] website. Mykos kept entering my purview time and again. Eventually, when it came time and I had a little money put aside for a purchase of Beneficial Mychorrhizae, I chose to go with this Extreme Gardening product. I thought it was pricey, but that was at a time when I didn't realize it is actually competitively priced when considering all of the nutrients that are made available to farmers and gardeners.

What compels me to write this review is because of a particular success story I have from this summer with starting my own Echinacea (Purple Coneflower) from seed. I started the seeds in my apartment in the bottom half of a plastic one-gallon milk jug (budget gardening). The seeds I harvested from other Echinacea plants I had during the summer of 2012. The seeds sprouted and I kept sustaining them with regular waterings for about 3 1/2 months. Eventually, I transplanted the young, very small seedlings outside to my garden in front of the apartment/duplex, around middle June 2013. I used 2 products in the hole that I dug for these young seedlings. One product was Azomite dust, and the other was Extreme Gardening's Mykos.

I tested this product out by planting a control crop near the group that I used this on. The inoculated plants are twice the size already, with full, vigorous, upright growth. The jury is still out on the harvest, but I anticipate a plentiful one.

I have used this for a couple years now. It helped me grow my pumpkins past the 1000lb mark. Great in my little veggie garden too. Keeps disease out if used at planting and seed starting

We grew a lot of Dinosaur Kale this past year. We planted half in a bed along one side of our house, and the other half in a backyard raised bed. We are 100% organic gardeners and used absolutely no pest control substances, not even OMRI Listed products like Bt.

When planting my beds, I ran out of RTI Xtreme Gardening Mycorrhiza just when I got to the small, backyard beds. Needless to say, that kale received none of this fantastic product.

We had wasps visit both locations and took care of SOME of the cabbage moth issues. They ate quite a bit of the larvae. The side bed with the mycorrhiza had almost no cabbage moth problems yet there were continually HUNDREDS of moths there. The wasps were able to control it all. The beds in the back without the mycorrhiza? Horribly hit and almost destroyed multiple times by the cabbage moth larvae. Only now in late October, has our backyard Dino Kale recovered enough to start harvesting again.

The only difference in the two beds and their conflicting success was the use of RTI Xtreme Gardening Mycorrhiza. It is forever on my list of necessary ingredients for organic gardening.

For those interested, we planted in 100% organic compost, worm castings and heavy additions of Azomite. :) Talk about a beautiful, bountiful and nutrient-dense garden!

I needed an Innoculent for my Sugar Pods and Green Beans in my Square Foot Garden boxes and ran across this. As you now, Innoculent, by the ounce, is quite expensive. This works just as well (as far as I'm concerned) and it's a 2.2 pound bag for about the same amount as 6 ounces of Innoculent! But, after I received it, I found out you can use it on all kinds of fruits and veggies! If you're planting seedlings, just sprinkle about a teaspoon in the bottom of each seedling hole. If you're planting seeds, soak the seed in water and then coat it in the Mykos and plant! You can even use it as a top dressing for plants already growing! GREAT STUFF!!!!

This stuff works wonders. I highly recommend this product to any type of grower. Work into the soil of an established plant or to hole before transplanting, water it in with PURIFIED WATER and leave the rest to the Mykos. Just remember to only use PURIFIED WATER because tap water has anti-bacterial agents like chlorine and fluoride that will kill the beneficial microbes that Mykos would add to your plants. This product sells for around 25 on here but must Hydroponics/Grow stores sell it for $30+

This stuff if the bomb!!! I resd about what this stuff does and said let me try it out. And honestly this bag of mykos has gone a long way. I've potted over 150 plants and still have a not finished the bag. I grow plumerias and my plumerias have mega growth with this stuff. I also add it in anything i repot and I reported a Calamansi tree and the the Calamansi fruit are huge. Only suppose to be size of grapes but they're size of small plums. I've checked root systems from time to time and the roots go crazy with this stuff. Pair it up with Azos! Good stuff
