it sounds like a home theater system, the only limitations are the size of it, at very high volumes it still sounds crisp, although there is a very clear point after that where it sounds like a small speaker being pushed too far, which is exactly whats happening.
either way for a small music/movie/media speaker you cant beat this.
i paid $45 and its well worth it.
the actual $200 price i would stay far away.
I will say that their technical support has been really good, they thought after going through some troubeshooting that it was an out of box failure of some sort, so I returned the unit for a new one. Same issue with the new unit as well. Here is what is happening: Normally with these bluetooth units you go through the initial pairing, and then it's a matter of you turn the unit on, select bluetooth as the source and the unit connects to your device and you play the music. Once you are done you either power the unit off or select a different source and the bluetooth connection drops. NOT with this unit. I was surprised that after just plugging in the unit (power button has not been pressed) I could see it in my bluetooth manager and pair with it even though the unit was powered off. So I turned on the Tango and started playing music, it sounded really good but there are one to three quick drops in every song. I am used to having that happen may a couple of times in an entire session on my portable devices, but they were much more frequent on the Tango. Then once I was finished with listening I powered off the unti and assumed all was well. Then I got a call and could not hear the person on the other end. What I found was that I was still connected to the Tango unit even though I had powered it off. The only way to break the connection is to either cycle bluetooth on the phone, or unplug the Tango unit. THEN the next time you want to play music I figured I just turn on the Tango, select bluetooth as the source and start the music, but that isn't how it's working. I have to turn on the unit, select bluetooth, then press the play/pause button on either the Tango or the remote. This connects the bluetooth, then I press play/pause again to start the music.
I hope they can figure out what this is happening and provide a fix (or unit that works as it should). I really like to sound quality but it's a complete hassle to use the bluetooth capability the way it's working now...
I will update when they get back to me on the problems with bluetooth.
I had read the reviews, to confirm that iPhone owners using the Otter Box on their phones did not have to strip the phone nekkid every time to use the system -- and while I did find comments to that effect for this system... I need to clarify that the Otter Box DEFENDER Series DOES NOT WORK with this sytem as it is designed. (Perhaps they were using the Commuter Series of Otter Box?) I had to purchase an additional item (the 30-pin male to female extension) to get this to work with my iPhone/Defender.
Luckily, the extension is available on Amazon, and arrived a few days later, so I have been enjoying music on my back patio!
The sound is clear, even when at full volume. Full volume is surprisingly loud for such a little sized system.
There are options of adjusting the EQ when using the downloaded app from iTunes.
Works via bluetooth or the dock to broadcast your music.
Beware: BT is DIRECT LINE of Sight, so as people walk between your XtrememMac Tango TRX and your iPhone - you instantly are singing a capella until they move outta the way! ;)
The remote is simple and basic with a pretty decent distance of operation.
Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase.

I looked for a long while at different speaker docs. I wanted something with great, crisp sound which had the power behind it that I could hear upstairs if I wanted to, and I'm super picky about sound, so it can't distort when it gets loud. I compared the top rated ones for sound @ Bestbuy before I bought this, most notably Logitech S715i, Bose, Beats by Dre Pill, and Jawbone Jambox. I liked the Logitech, great sound, but it doesn't have the power behind it that I wanted. Bose sounded great: what do you expect for that price? I liked this TANGO far superior to any of the others I tried, and in the end I landed on this one based on price. Boy was this a GREAT DECISION! I purchased this product refurbished, and it came like new: in the original box with all the parts, etc. My hubbie was able to play music almost immediately upon plugging it in...just needed to download an app quickly. Oh my gosh, it has FABULOUS SOUND! I found that the sound of this is comparable to the Bose. Now I know that the die-hard Bose lovers will probablly fight that last statement, but I am dead serious. Great sound, great power, and plenty of bass and volume. That's the bottom line. So, if you are an audiophile on a shoestring like me, don't hesitate to buy this...YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!
