Just after I planted, we experienced unusual amounts of rain and much of the seed never germinated due to too much water.
The seed that did germinate, was quickly chewed off by the many rabbits that live in our area.
The space quickly became a mess, so we've had to turn over the soil again after removing the supports for the vines. I should still have time to replant, but I know that I need to keep rabbits out of the area if I hope to be successful.
The one inch mesh should keep the rabbits out and 24 inch height is easy enough for me to step over.
Uncoated poultry netting can be difficult to to work with and even more difficult to roll up again for future use.
This should be easier to use and reuse and will hopefully protect my plants long enough to get established.
At least one of our local stores has this for about the same price. Since Amazon delivers quickly, I decided to just purchase it here.
I used a dozen short pieces of wood for anchors and wrapped the netting around them, securing the netting to the wood with garbage bag ties. The product went up easily and has stayed up for over two months now with no hassles at all.
The product could be improved by shipping it with some anchor posts, but scraps of wood work just fine.
The roll is made of two narrow strips attached down the middle, so it's not uniform looking. Didn't matter to me.
