This seems to be the favorite challenge by atheists to Believers since I come across it so often in online blogs and comments.
Most atheists seem to believe that if we could just get Jesus to come down here, appear to them, and talk with them, that they, and people like them, would believe. Outside of that, they are certain that there is just no evidence whatsoever for God, and we are ignorant and uneducated for believing that the God of the Bible exists and is active and relevant in the world today.
Apparently they've never heard of Judas, who walked and talked with Jesus day after day, saw Lazarus raised from the dead along with numerous other incredible miracles, and yet denied and betrayed Him. Even Peter, after three years of being in Jesus' inner circle, denied he knew his Lord thrice on the eve of His Crucifixion. Apparently seeing is not necessarily believing. Our atheists friends consider themselves to be extremely educated and incredibly smart. They should know better.
So once more, Verderame confronts the faulty thinking of atheists with candor and common sense. Without belittling or bashing, he prods them into stepping back and taking a look at Who and What God really is and what it means to reject Him, challenging the hypocrisy of their belief system and the fallacy of trying to make God into what they think He should be, if He does exist.
In the role of a faithful Watchman, Verderame lays out basic Bible truths in a manner that should leave the reader finding it difficult not to comprehend the Gospel message. After expounding with candor and honesty on his own experience and journey toward Faith, the author ends the book in a manner that leaves the reader in the position of knowing they just read truth and they have a decision to make, whether they want to admit it or not.
An easy but thoughtful read, with the tone of Verderame's first book, "Evolution is Stupid", "Yes God Exists and Yes, You Are In Trouble" is an important book for our day.
