Plus: Beautiful-looking mat which folds as well as rolls so I can carry it easily in my backpack. It's quite heavy in spite of being thin, which is a good thing because it keeps it from bunching up under my feet. The biggest minus to this mat is the design side is super slippery (there is a price to be paid for that nice soft microfiber). I sprayed the mat with a whole lot of water before and during my heated yoga class, but still had trouble with some poses such as wheel and down dog. I've started using the back side of the mat, which is almost a bit too sticky but better than sliding around. I will look out for other products from this company, but can't say this mat was entirely the solution I was hoping for to combine portability with function.

was looking around for a while for a mat that would allow new to not need an extra towel on my mat to absorb sweat as well as help me from slipping in class. though i needed to moisten my mat where hands and feet would be, it worked 90% well. slipping happened occasionally but i didnt expect it to be 100% non-slip. the print is amazing to say the least and had many compliments on my 1st use. i would stick to my thicker mat for ashtanga and non-hot yoga classes but really want to pick up the thickest one since the prints are so pretty, just to see if it would support my heels better thank this 1.5 thickness mat. i put a small towel on my mat for purposes of supporting my heels at times.

This is a seriously beautiful mat, and Yoga Design Lab has been great about being touch to make sure that I was happy with my order, which is a nice touch.

- I purchased the mat to use as a travel mat. It is a little bit heavier than most mats, and I could see fitting it in a suitcase being challenging -- but it rolls up very compactly, and I plan to take it with me when I travel and just carry it as a carry on.

- I love the texture of this mat. I have rather sweaty hands and typically use a yogi-toes towel on top of Gaiam Sol mat. Since I received this mat, I've been using it on top of my Gaiaim Sol instead of my towel. You do need to wet the surface down before you start to get a good grip, but it is very easy to do. I just take a damp cloth and run it over the surface, which is also a great way to clean the mat at the end of a practice.

So great! the mat is very thin so it's easy to carry to and from yoga classes every day. It's a little heavier than I expected though, but it rolls really nicely. the top is very soft so I don't mind putting my forehead on the mat during child's pose. I did need to add a little water to my hands ( Just the condensation from my water bottle) to make sure I had some more grip just in the beginning of my practice. However once I got into my practice I had no problem in downward dog or wheel. If your knees hurt in table top, you may need a blanket or a second mat underneath for more cushion. It's perfect for what I needed, plus it was inexpensive. I didn't notice a huge chemically potent rubber smell at all, I didn't need to air it out, like my old mat.

Would recommend and would buy again if I needed.

I adore this mat! I was a little worried because some of the reviews suggested that it was slippery and needed to sprayed down before using. While I think spraying would be beneficial in some classes, I find that in my home practice and in hot yoga classes that I have plenty of grip. Maybe I just perspirate enough to forgo the spraying, but I think it's a great mat either way. Easy to clean is another plus!!
