I would like to contact Yolk and request a replacement LCD, but there is no way to communicate with them other than here. In fact, they refer customers to Amazon to leave a review. The instructions provided with the Solar Paper tell you to contact a physical address in Korea or the website, but there is no customer service email or number listed on their website. Right now, I don't have a good feeling about their customer service.
7/5/16 - I sent an email message to the email that confirmed the purchase. A person named Sen asked that I send a video of the problem which I did. He said he couldn't understand the video. He asked that I do additional troubleshooting, which I did today, to charge a different device. Again, the device indicator did not show it was charging out of the non Apple port. It does charge out of the Apple port, but I don't have an Apple device. After reporting the non Apple port was still not working, I requested a new LCD. Here is what I received. "Thank you for trying. When is your trip? Please ship the whole units back to us a.s.a.p. If you are not in extreme hurry, basic USPS with tracking number will be fine. We will examine the units and ship you new units if it has a problem.

I have to pay $40 to send it to Korea and have them look at it. The video apparently showing the port did not charge was not enough information. I have asked for a return authorization, despite a 25% restocking fee, and am changing my review to one star. I am going to buy a different solar charger. Other companies would send you a replacement unit and a prepaid mailing envelope to return a defective unit. $100 lesson learned. The product looks good, but no US support after the sale means you are on your own if there is a problem.
My only recommendations for improvement would be stronger magnets that hold the panels together, actually if they were really strong they could hold all the panels in a straight line so that when you rest it against a rock all the panels would face the sun instead of kind of bend in different directions. Oh, and one final recommendation is to try and lower the price, because I'd love to buy additional panels if they were cheaper. Keep up the great work.
Let's talk about an ideal setup, and then I'll go over the pros and cons. Imagine your backpack sitting out in the sun. The panels go on top, your battery goes underneath or inside. Why didn't I say phone? They're temperamental creatures, smartphones. They generate heat during operation, which they can't bleed off if it's too hot. I suggest a "power bank" type, which you can charge from this setup. Will work directly, but is not an ideal scenario.
Some pros of this are the tight form factor when collapsed and robust connections. The magnets are strong and last months of regular use. The plugs are resilient. The customer service is exemplary from this company, as when my shipment was delayed the owner jumped in and had things straightened out within a day.
There are a few downsides. The rigidity of the panels and the various metal bits can scuff up things if you're rough, so they need to be wrapped in a microfiber towel or the like to protect them and your pack contents during more lively jaunts. The connections are magnetic, primarily, with lightweight plastics connecting them as a backup. This works fine if you are stationary or are moving slowly. Not so great for those moving fast or bouncing regularly. The fabric-wrapped GoalZero types are a little more pleasant to handle, though I haven't found them to work as well as these.
With these 4 panels I save some money using them as charger for my iPhone and iPad.
Now I did even better - bought powerbank which I charge from the Sun during daylight and use in the evening or at night to charge the energy to my devices.
According to the data I saw on the screen it is about 1.7A were generated during iPad charge which is more than enough.
For future buyers and current users I'd like to remind that most efficient energy generation for the Solar Paper is direct sunlight without clouds, otherwise you will be irritated that Solar Paper does not work or work improperly.
