Last year I came across a page on Facebook about period panties. They were so cute but unfortunately many of the reviews stated that they faded quickly and for the extreme price I'd expect them to last me a lot longer. Anyways, I somehow ended up on a page that sold reusable cloth pads and I instantly fell in love with the patters on the fabrics. I didn't wear pads at the time but I did wear a lot of disposable liners. I was having a discharge a lot so I was wearing liners pretty much daily. I thought that if I switched to reusable cloth liners that I could save a little bit of money and it would be fun to have a variety of colors and designs on them. I ordered them and fell in love with them. Within 2 months my period had decreased by 2 days, my cramps were less, and the discharge issues I was having disappeared. I knew then that the disposables weren't good for me. I then started researching menstrual cups because I didn't want to wear thick cloth pads but I wanted to ditch my tampons. I immediately fell in love with my menstrual cup and I haven't looked back. My period is now down to 4 days, 1 day being pretty much nothing, from 7 and I rarely ever have cramps anymore. Period panties have been discussed a lot in the groups I am in and I've been wanting to try them for a while but just never gave in and did because the prices were a but high for a pair of panties that I wouldn't wear often. Even though I love my cloth liners and my menstrual cups I still do have leaks at night sometimes. I wear a thicker cloth liner but since my uterus is low I have to use a small cup and on the first 2 days of my cycle I fill it up quicker so it's understandable that I may have leaks. It makes it hard to stay anywhere else but my house on those days because I don't want anyone to see it if I do happen to leak.
These Women Menstrual Period Briefs Jacquard Easy Clean Panties Multi Pack by YOYI FASHION come in a pack of 3. I chose the blue, nude, and violet set. They come nicely folded in a thick, plastic Ziploc slider type of bag. There are two tags on each pair. The first tag has a charcoal color background with a silhouette of a woman wearing yellow panties and a pink bra. In white it says YOYI FASHION at the top.
The other tag says:
Brand: YOYI FASHION
Name: Lady underwear
Place of Origin: China
It also has a QR code, an email address, and their amazon shop website.
The tag inside of the panties say:
Underwear Materials: 84% Nylon and 16% Spandex
Water-proof layer: 82.2% Regenerated Cellulose Fiber and 17.8% Bamboo Charcoal Fiber
The washing instructions are on the back. It says to machine wash with cold water no higher than 30°C, do not use bleach, lay flat to dry, iron with steam or dry on low heat, and do not dry clean.
I assumed that these panties would run small as many garments from China run 2 sizes too small usually so I ordered 1 size up because panties usually run big on me because I don't have a butt to fill them up. When they arrived I knew that they would be too big for me so if I had ordered the size I would've order had they been from America they would've been perfect. Thankfully they're not so big that they're not wearable. Since I really needed them at night the most they're just fine for me to wear to bed.
The cut of these panties are not the cut that I prefer but I'm not wearing them to impress anyone. They are high waisted with tall hips. The crotch is quite wide. The narrowest part is 3.75 inches. This is to help keep the panties in position and covering everything. I like the width because it ensures that my cloth liners are staying in position while I'm sleeping. Narrow crotches allow them to move around a lot at night because they don't stick to the panties but rather have wings that come under the panties and snap onto each other. On the inside of the panties there's a gray liner that runs from the top of the back of the panties and under to half way to the top of the front of the panties. This is what helps keep anything from getting through the panties and onto other articles of clothing and/or bedding.
I was actually quite impressed with the material of these panties. They are actually really soft. Both materials are very soft against my body and cause me no irritation. I like how the liner goes all the way up the back to meet up with the waist band because some panties cause me irritation on my butt where the seam for the crotch is. With this material being thicker that means that the seams are thicker as well.
The stitching of these panties are done well for the most part. I do see where the liner is outside of the stitch a lot on the inside but that's not visible anywhere but on the inside and it doesn't effect the functionality of these panties at all. This doesn't bother me but it may bother others.
These panties do not mean that you don't have to wear a pad or tampons when wearing them. They're for backup protection in case the pad moves or you have a leak. We all have experienced that dreaded moment when we realize that the pad shifted or feeling wet when we're wearing a tampon. I've rolled out of bed with my legs tightly squeezed together and ran to the bathroom with my legs tightly squeezed together still hoping I didn't bleed everywhere. It's extra assurance. If you are someone who spots all the time then these would be a good option instead of liners. If you're bleeding enough to fill a pad then these will eventually leak through.
These panties work great for me. I sleep so much better at night when I am on my period knowing that if I do happen to leak, I had additional protection to help save my clothes and sheets. They have saved me a few times already and I am very grateful for that. They're very comfortable to wear as well.
I would definitely recommend these panties. I am actually going to find a set for my mom as well since she liked them when I showed them to her. She has other issues that require her wearing a liner all the time so these may be a better option for her. I definitely would love for her to give them a try rather than using the disposable pads that are full of chemicals.
I was sent a complimentary set of Women Menstrual Period Briefs Jacquard Easy Clean Panties Multi Pack by YOYI FASHION for inspection, testing, and reviewing purposes. My review is based solely on my personal experience with them.
