I have owned: Shure E2's, Shure E3's, Beyerdynamics, Sony, Skullcandy, Sennheiser and Phillips. These are head and shoulders above anything I have owned. I was considering the Monster Beats by Dr Dre - they have a bit better bass but at the same time they muddied the sound a bit.
I was looking for something different (like my Beyerdynamics) and got an incredible suprise. I love these headphones.
I listen to classical, punk and electronic primarily and these work well in all genres.
A little background first. My main concern was that I didn't want closed / noise isolating earbuds. I wanted to use them for running and in-ear monitors (or anything jammed into your ear canal) creates a vacuum in your ears. Have you ever stuck your fingers in your ears? You really shouldn't do that to begin with...but what happens is it block out any sound outside and you hear sound through your head. So every sound that goes through your body, you hear amplified and muffled...like your heartbeat or your footsteps. All this to say, when you're running, all you hear is your feet pounding some huge monster! Boom! Boom! Boom!
So these earbuds fit the first and most important criteria for me..now how do they sound? Well, when I first tried them...the drivers weren't warn yet so the sound was tight. The highs sounded fine, but it couldn't handle the bass. Now, some people online have been saying headphones and earbuds don't need to be "burned in"...and for some units, that my be true. But I've used a few mid-ranged headphones/earbuds and in both cases...they did need time for the drivers to loosen up. After a few hours of playing what i normally listen to (at normal volume levels), they started to sound better. There is no set time limit on how long it'll take, they just take a while for them to sound better. After using them for a few days, they're starting to sound really good. Music I'm very familiar with, sounds different.Read more ›
They look like headphones you might get on an airline flight...totally generic and unassuming. There has been literally no attention given to a flashy appearance. Still, the build quality is good and the sound eclipses anything I'd ever expect from an earbud. They don't do anything for sound isolation, which is good if you still want to be able to function while listening to music.
You can't always be wearing a head set, and in-ear-canal headsets aren't good for times when you need to be cognizant of your surroundings. Oftentimes, an earbud is exactly what you need. The problem has always been that even the expensive ones butcher your music. Well, this obscure little Chinese company seems to have done what big-time competitors were unable to do.
If you're picky about your sound but still find yourself needing earbuds for many an occasion, The Pk2 is the way to go. I would recommend them to anyone.

I would rate these a 3.5 stock and a 5 modded. The stock cable is absolute trash. I've seen better cables on $3 earbuds handed out while flying. Read morePublished 5 months ago by Tree Fiddy
While the earphones sound loud, they lack deeper tones and as far as the materials go, they feel really cheap and lightweight. Read morePublished 5 months ago by Zack
