Review of the Yacumama Digital Oven Thermometer.
This is an excellent little digital thermostat. The display is large and easy to read. It is not complicated and simple to use. There are 3 large buttons on the front to adjust the time, temp, or to change from °F to °C.
On the back of the unit, there is a switch for On/Off and a button to change the mode from timer to cook. It has a built-in stand to sit the unit up, has a mounting hole to hang and there is also a decent magnet on the back to hang it on something metal. The magnet is stronger than expected which is nice.
There are basically 2 modes one being a simple countdown timer (max of 100 minutes countdown) and the other mode is Cook where you set the desired temp and the alarm goes off when the temp is reached. Most people bought this unit for that function to cook roasts or whatever.
The cooking or temperature probe is of good quality and is wrapped with a stainless mesh. The length of the probe is more than adequate and you could also easily find a replacement for this probe.
The overall build quality is excellent, It does not feel cheap at all. The unit requires 1 AAA battery. It is easy to wipe down the unit and clean the probe. You can leave this probe in the oven which is the main reason why people would buy this unit.
Overall this is an excellent unit at an excellent price. It is just a quality cooking probe with function over form and no crazy gimmicks or colored LEDs to try and make a unit feel like it is better. For people that cook this is all you need.
