I ordered the 3000W model and was pleased with the weight and the initial build quality but upon further inspection I'm thankful I never connected this to my mains or I could've realized these flaws too late. Before I get into the potentially lethal problems, mine arrives looking like it's been opened before and one of the screws in the front looks like someone partially stripped it.
First the description is wrong; the in/out connections are NOT banana plugs. They are just screws with a basic circular non-star washer and color coded end nuts. Second, as you would expect with an autotransformer the neutral line is common across in the input/output; however, the thick red paint makes the chassis almost impossible to ground as if it were an isolation transformer. For your safety: IT PROVIDES NO ISOLATION AND NO PROTECTION FOR YOU. And to make matters worse, the chassis screw where they suggest connecting to ground has partial continuity with the rest of the chassis !!!! The red paint is too thick and some metal-on-metal contacts are insulated because of it..... THIS IS UNBELIEVABLY DANGEROUS TO TOUCH. That means part of the chassis has 0V ground reference while other parts (such as idk... the HANDLE) are NOT GROUNDED. !! !!!
This should be illegal, that leaves YOU as the missing link to complete a potential fault to ground for all 30 amps "YaeCCC" so generously built this appliance to tolerate. To add insult to (potentially lethal) injury, the inductive load of the coil is so large that GFCI-protected outlets cannot be used as the interrupter is triggered with any significant change in current.
If you have a very high understanding of the workings of mains AC, then you can use this safely if you really want to save that bit of money vs one that's MiUSA I supposed. But anyone who would consider themself less knowledgable should steer as far away from here as you can.
