I don't know why my kids love these so much, but they do! This was one of their favorite Christmas gifts this year! They use them often, and take it with them whenever we travel. Kids think they're fun and laugh hysterically when they secretly record anyone saying anything while playing it back to them. WORTH THE PRICE!

It records the tone that indicates that recording is ready. That really annoys me because every time you play what you recorded it starts with a loud *beep*. I don't remember Yak Bak's doing this from my childhood but, then again, that was a while ago.

this is quite expensive really, and i have to buy batteries as well because the ones in it don't work (understandable since the item is like a million years old). nostalgia is cool but all in all, the memories are not worth it to pay $25 & record a few seconds of audio.
