A couple downsides I found with this product is that since they are big and so they make a fair amount of wind noise while installed. The other concern I had with them was that they do not come with anything to lock the bike rack to your bars. Someone can easily steal these off your roof if you don't buy aftermarket or Yakima brand locks.
Gas mileage - I have three of these on my car. When all three are on, it cuts my gass mileage down 13 mi to the gallon. That sucks.
Overall though I'm still happy. Nice to not have to take wheels off, especially my kids that are not quick release.
